Boss K9

I heard about BossK9 through a friend, and I followed them for months before I finally contacted Anna about my dog Ranger. Before training, Ranger was incredibly anxious and excitable. Eventually, I couldn't take him out in public because he would start yelping and screaming when he saw other dogs, not to mention his poor leash manners. Going outside of our house/yard was stressful and anxiety-inducing for the both of us. Anna was great from the start. She was very professional and straightforward in our consultation, and we decided that a three week board-and-train would be the best option for Ranger. I was nervous dropping him off, but by then I was very confident that he would be in good hands. I received weekly updates about his progress, and I was amazed at the change I saw. When I picked him up, Anna walked me through his new commands, had me practice with him, and showed me how to incorporate his new training into our daily life. After his board-and-train, Anna was very accommodating with scheduling multiple follow-ups on our short timeline before we moved out of state, and with her guidance Ranger and I found our rhythm together. Ranger finished his training in June, 2020, and now, six months later, we are both thriving. I am able to take him with me in public, walk him completely at ease (no more pulling/darting off wherever he wants), and communicate with him on a new level. He frequently receives compliments on his behavior when we are out and about, and I've had multiple people ask me about training after meeting him.

It's taken me a long time to write a review because I kept forgetting, but I think it works out because I've had plenty of time to learn with Boss K9! I called Anna about 4 days after I adopted my 6 year old lab. Shamrock was human aggressive, nervous, over protective of me almost immediately, food aggressive, and then just generally untrained. We ended up doing the 4 week board and train in May and it's honestly like I have a whole new dog. I'm coming up on almost a year of having him and he is now the chillest, friendliest pup. He loves everyone that visits and isn't afraid of strangers anymore. He doesn't guard me and does well with his commands. He gets along with other dogs and is a good leash walker. He asks permission to come up on the couch or in bed and he doesn't guard his food or treats at all. Today's win was that I finally got him to go into the bathtub of my apartment instead of going to a groomers - I would have been terrified to try and get him in there a few months ago, afraid he'd get nervous and snap at me, but Boss K9 has helped us learn to trust each other and has helped me make Sham comfortable and feel safe in his new life. I highly recommend Boss K9 if you have issues with aggression or even just need basic training, their methods work. Even when I slack on practicing or miss some walks, it only takes a few minutes of corrections to remind Shamrock what we're doing and that he knows how he's supposed to act. The dogs know and remember their training long after leaving and my dog is so much happier now that he knows he can trust me and we know how to communicate with each other.

I have had the pleasure of working with Boss K9 for the last 5 months while addressing concerns I had regarding my 4 year old Morkie’s reactiveness, anxieties, and neurotic tendencies. I will start by saying that Anna, Bethany, and the rest of the Boss K9 team are dedicated and caring, and work hard with both the dogs and their owners to drive long lasting results. I was following the progress of a friends dog, and was recommended by them to reach out to Anna and her team. When I first talked with Anna about my dogs behavioral issues, she asked prompting questions to better understand my current situation and problem areas to make sure her team was the best fit for me and my dog (Benny). She gave me several training options that she thought would best serve our situation, and gave me time to make my best decision. My dog completed a three week board and train, and let me tell you, it has been life changing. I cried tears of joy and disbelief when we did our take home lesson because of how well behaved my dog was. I could not believe how calm my dog was in my home when he would normally be barking at every little noise or trigger. Before working with Boss K9 I would dread walks with Benny because of how reactive he was towards other dogs, squirrels or any other distraction. Now I feel confident in how to communicate with Benny when those stressful situations arise. He still has moments when he is reactive, but Anna continues to educate me on how to handle these situations. I look forward to every monthly follow up session with Anna and Bethany not only because it helps brush up on the skills they’ve taught me, but it’s also so much fun working with them! The services they offer their clients are second to none, and I look forward to every interaction with them (monthly follow up sessions, organized client pack walks, boarding services, etc.). Boss K9 has improved our daily routines in ways I never believed were possible, and for that I will always recommend them to anyone seeking dog training services.
