Buck Wild Dog Training

I got Stella around thanksgiving from a shelter. they said that she was good around other dogs, after i adopted her i saw that she was a little reactive towards other dogs so i started to look at trainers in the area. that is when i found buck wild. we did the 10 week 1:1 session. we worked on leash pulling, playing nice and redirecting her when another dog passes by as she would make a dolphin noise as victoria called it. we did the one of the weekend classes with other reactive dogs and it was great. stella did much better than victoria and i thought she was going to do being that close to other dogs. the 10 sessions went by super quick, and during our last session we took her out on a short walk with two different dogs and she did great! the last piece that victoria had us do as homework was to walk with other dogs. she has done such a good job with other dogs on walks. we plan on continuing with the weekend classes to socialize stella more. stella has also been making less noise when seeing other dogs and her focus on them went down so much, as when i say lets go, she follows me. victoria was patient but also stern with stella during our time. I have already recommended victoria to people i know who knew i was taking stella to training and said that they would most likely contact her in the near future when they had the time to fully focus on training their dog.

I brag about Victorias success with my dog, Goose, any chance I get. I brought home my boy four months ago from a crowded shelter. We were basically unable to walk him down the street without him jumping, barking, and lunging and any person or dog he saw. He was too excited and overstimulated all the time and it was so unsafe for both him and us. After 6 1:1 sessions with Victoria, my Goose can safely walk down the street and has even gone in our local hardware store without causing chaos! Our friends constantly comment on what a change they see in him. While we have plenty of work still ahead of us I’m so grateful for Victorias patience with my somewhat obnoxious 70lb puppy. If you’re on the fence about where to take your pup, I can’t recommend Victoria enough!!

Buck Wild Dog Training is simply the BEST. We completed 1:1 training and a board and train with our rescue pit bull, and continue to participate in the pack walks and weekend group classes. During the 1:1 classes we worked with Chris to learn basic manners and recall, while implementing different collars as training tools. Chris was able to answer our questions (there were many) and educated us on what our dog needed from us. Our board and train focused on obedience, dog reactivity, and off leash walking and so far we have had AMAZING results (that I truly didn’t even think were possible). Our dog who once uncontrollably barked and lunged at other dogs while on walks can now confidently and happily pass other dogs while walking. Lulu came back more well trained than we could have ever imagined. Admittedly, we were nervous to send our dog to training for a month away from us, but almost immediately we received picture and video updates and could see how happy and well loved Lulu was at training. Victoria, Chris, and Jen first and foremost LOVE animals. They care that dogs are comfortable, feel safe, have fun, build trust, and gain confidence during their training. They want dogs to be dogs and feel loved during their training, which I think is very comforting to know as a dog owner. We have had an open line of communication from the start and I feel well-supported/educated in the post board and train check ins. Training with Buck Wild was the best decision we could have made for Lulu (and ourselves). We now feel comfortable and well-equipped to take our dog on walks in public places without fear of uncontrollable reactivity. It is also the absolute best to watch her run free during off leash time! I recommend EVERYONE who is in need of dog education or training to reach out to Buck Wild- they are truly phenomenal.

Victoria is a thoughtful and patient trainer. She takes the time to get to know the dog and understand their needs, always going at their pace. She built a plan that worked for my dog, who had zero training previously, and focused on the areas I was hoping to improve including crate training, leash training and socialization. Not only did my dog benefit greatly from her training, particularly in terms of how her confidence has increased, but I also learned so much. I’m grateful for Victoria’s expertise and guidance!
