Victoria and her crew are the best! She trained both our rescues, one specifically for fear based aggression and the other in a board and train. Our dachshund/beagle mix was becoming aggressive, particularly towards my husband when he returned from his duty station. Victoria takes a holistic approach and we switched his seizure meds, got his diet under control and worked on building up the relationship between him and my husband and things are so much better! We also did a board and train for our new pittie mix who was scared of everything - she would only go outside to pee and then run back to the house. 5 weeks with Victoria and she’s a confident, brave girl who loves to sniff and explore the city now! Victoria was also very responsive with check ins and sent regular updates.

Highly Recommend Buckwild Dog Training!!!! We found Victoria when we needed someone to watch our Redbone Coonhound, Tito, who had never been boarded before. He wasn’t the easiest guest—he barked a lot, had some digestive issues, and struggled with crate rest. Despite all this, Victoria went above and beyond. She kept us updated with texts, got him started on a new diet (which we still use today), and even offered to take him to the vet if needed. She also gave Tito extra outdoor time with other dogs to tire him out. I’m so grateful for Victoria, Jenn, and Chris. They’re truly the best! Their space is also fantastic for training sessions and tailored to meet each dog’s specific training and care needs, and for training on reactivity. Victoria is a great dog trainer- she customizes each session based on what your needs are and she's very knowledgeable about all types of dogs. She taught us how to use balanced methods and lots of PLAY to get the best results. Tito’s recall has improved a TON, and he’s well on his way to earning his CGC thanks to her guidance. We met Victoria through “Saving Grace Animal Rescue” as she was fostering the dog we were interested in adopting. She was friendly and knowledgeable while assessing whether we and the dog were a good match. She explained to us the conditions that led to the dog being surrendered and spending time in a shelter before being rescued. She watched his interactions with us and described what we would need to do to help him transition into a new home. In the two weeks he was with her, she had already worked on his basic training, which has made the transition into our home much easier. And she followed up to see how that transition was going. It was a pleasure meeting her, and good to know someone who is willing to help rescued dogs find their new homes and families. I also signed up to her online video courses, and found my first lesson, "Leash Walking", to be very helpful.

Victoria is one of the most caring and dedicated trainers I’ve ever met. As a business owning pet professional and pet mom myself- I know exactly how hard it can be working with animals 10+ hours a day and also managing a small business. It’s hard emotionally, physically, and financially. It’s a constant balance of putting all you have into these animals while also keeping up with invoices, emails, marketing ourselves, etc. Have you ever tried to even look at your phone, let alone check your emails and respond quickly , in a professional way while you’re arms deep in a cow giving birth? No? That might be why it takes a few days to get back to emails. Baby cow goo can take a while to get out of your finger nails, at least business day, 72 hours max. She puts so much of her time and energy into helping dogs and their families succeed. I’ve personally seen her turn work with dogs most wouldn’t and she does it in a way that leaves the owners feeling empowered and supported. She doesn’t just work the dog — she trains in a way that allows a dog to BE A DOG and makes sure the people understand the process too. She explains what she’s doing as she’s doing it, and why she’s teaching it, so clients can actually apply the work outside of the sessions. Training isn’t just for the dog, it is for the pet parents, too, and I feel a lot of pet parents do not understand that or just don’t know. One hour sessions a week are not enough for a dog to retain that information, they need consistency and practice every day. So, unless pet parents plan on hiring an in-home 24/7 dog trainer, it is up to them to keep working their dogs and build that bond with their dog. She’s incredibly thorough and takes the time to break things down in a way that makes sense to every owner, showing how even the smallest steps connect to the bigger picture. It helps the parents understand exactly what’s behind the potentially “silly things” or basic obedience that they think are useless or too easy- like “sit”, but really it’s building a foundation of trust between the dog and the handler and creating a bond that will allow them to progress successfully in their training. And your dog probably needed it. That’s why you hired a trainer. Beyond training, she also offers a wonderful home-style boarding setup where dogs stay in a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment instead of a kennel. On top of that, she is a mother, a wife, a business partner, and manages a farm where she cares for multiple species of animals every day — it’s a whole family life built around animals. Her dedication to this work is incredible; she was actively training right up until the day she gave birth, which shows just how passionate she is about what she does. I am insanely picky when it comes to who cares for my animals/ trains them and Victoria is one of only three people in this world I trust with them. I recommend her to my clients constantly and they always come back so happy and fulfilled. Because that’s how she trains these animals and how it should be- using methods that allow a dog to be a dog and live that happy and fulfilling life.
