I was afraid that the behavior problems Reagan, my field-bred Irish setter, was showing (barking, jumping on guests, and being so hyperactive) were caused by me spoiling my dog, so I was reluctant to hire a trainer as I thought for sure they would berate me for spoiling them. I love how quickly we were able to solve his jumping, barking and hyperactivity with Caitlin. We solved it so quickly that now we get to focus on the fun stuff such as tricks and bonding games. And the best part? I get Caitlin for accountability sessions for the next year. How is that for money well spent?

Back in September 2024 I got a golden retriever that was being rehomed. I contacted Caitlin with getting some help with getting my dog to adapt to his crate. As soon as Caitlin entered my home Blu backed away and was very shy and timid. The first thing she says is he has hip issues. While my husband and I were filling out and doing “school work” for her she continued to try to get Blu to come to her with treats. When he wasn’t warming up to her she asked if we could go outside and have him play with her dog. We go outside and she lets her dog out of her car and he/she was running through my plants and peeing on everything. The entire time we were outside it felt like it was all about her dog and what her dog could do!! Jumping for frisbees etc. After about 15 min of all that we came back in our house which she brought her dog in as well and the chaos continued. Her dog ran around my house jumped on my bed and even growled at my dog (this was witnessed by my husband). After several min of this chaos in my home she finally took her dog back out to her car. Caitlin continued on her soap box about Blu having hip issues and being in pain. We explained to her that we had just gotten health insurance for him but it wasn’t effective yet due to a waiting period. She pretty much said that we were letting our dog in pain over the insurance money. From there she conveniently started to sell us something about an “animal therapy center” and how my dog was in pain and would benefit from supplements (CBD products etc). She said that if I took my dog to the therapy center he would be diagnosed right away. I said how without X-rays etc. Then I questioned her about the credentials for the animal therapy center. Were they board certified veterinarians. She dodged my question. Right then I grew suspicious and thought she was in cahoots with the animal therapy center. After she left I cried because I thought I had gotten a dog with hip issues. Well months went by and I never forgot what she said. So yesterday Blu went to be neutered and I requested that his hips by X-rayed while under anesthesia to determine if there were any issues. Well this is the diagnosis from the vet “Blu had his hips radiographed while he was sedated today multiple views were used to look at the femoral head contact with the acetabulum (Hip socket). It is this veterinarians opinion that Blu’s Hip radiographs were very normal in appearance with good acetabular coverage and no signs of hip dysplasia or early onset, degenerative joint disease”! THIS BEING STATED BY THE VETERINARIAN WHO IS CERTIFIED TO DO SO!!! I wish that Caitlin did not upset me by diagnosing my dog with hip issues when she clearly is not a veterinarian or certified to do such. The $120.00 I paid her was the worst money I ever spent. Be smart and don’t believe what she says if she “claims” your dog has hip issues. Do to your vet for a real diagnosis not by a trainer who thinks she knows it all!!

We had the pleasure of working with Caitlin after winning a gift card at the Paws at the Park event, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain simple yet effective methods to discourage our 7-month-old puppy from nipping.
