Calm K9 Training

We reached out to Calm K9 after we did a 10-day board and train with another company, and we were highly disappointed with the results. Our pup was not listening to us, and honestly, we had no idea what we were doing. I reached out for a free consultation, and literally the next day, Carl came out. He spoke with us in depth about what our girl, Ruby, needed. We did the 4-week private lesson with Carl, and he was amazing. He answered every question we had, spent hours in our home, and was extremely understanding. Because of him, our pup is a different dog, and we are more in tune with what she needs. He not only trained her but trained us! We are confident in our abilities because of him. Ruby now has a solid recall and only has to hear commands once before she acts. I 100% recommend this company to everyone looking for a dog trainer.

We are incredibly happy with the training our 8 month old puppy received with Calm K9, specifically Carl. The difference in her behavior has been amazing, and honestly life changing for our family. She learned so much in the three weeks she stayed with Carl - not only with commands, but listening and responding appropriately. She is now a great walker on her leash and has stopped all of her unwanted behaviors (barking incessantly, jumping/biting, etc). She is truly happier, more manageable and much more enjoyable to be around. We cannot recommend Calm K9 enough!

David and Jackie did an incredible job with Junie and I’d highly recommend their board & train program. I rescued her at the beginning of July and by mid August I was only sleeping a few hours a night and spending hundreds of dollars replacing things she destroyed. There were times I was in tears because I felt so helpless and scared that she would get taken away from me. She was fearful, anxious, aggressive, reactive, destructive, a danger to herself, and violent with everyone but me and my other dog, Cooper. I reached out to Calm K9, was contacted immediately about Junie, given options without being pushed to spend outrageous amounts of money, and encouraged to take my time making a decision. I reached out to one other trainer and was told that Junie would always have these behavioral issues and I would not be able to take her to social events, have people over to celebrate holidays, vacations would be difficult, and she likely wouldn’t improve. I was also quoted double for a program that lasted less than half of the time that Calm K9 offered and didn’t include boarding. She’s only been home for 3 days now and I still have the same loving and goofy dog without the constant barking, biting, and aggression. I cannot believe how good she’s doing! She’s listening to her commands regardless of what the other dog in the house is doing, she’s easily corrected, and she’s finally relaxing. David and Jackie answered all of my questions, even ones I didn’t think to ask. I had all of the information I needed and still feel supported even though she’s officially home. Despite how much I’ve always worried about the concept of professional training, I never felt like Junie was being mistreated. I’m happy, Junie’s happy, and Cooper is happy.

After reading positive reviews, Calm K9 Training was my top choice for a trainer for my relative’s dog who needed to be rehomed after my relative passed away, who was showing some problem behaviors while staying with a foster mom. They were so helpful and honest. After evaluating the dog (which we were able to quickly schedule), they told me that likely it was just separation anxiety that didn’t warrant the full training program I was considering, and they gave foster mom some strategies to try that worked great. They could have sold us on a training package but were honest about and guided by the dog’s actual needs. I can’t think of a better reason to recommend them. Great people running a great business!
