Calm K9 Training

We just finished our training bootcamp with Carl and are so pleased with the results. Carl does a great job teaching and he really makes it an enjoyable process. We were instantly comfortable with him. Our pup was anxious, rambunctious and sometimes aggressive with other dogs. Now she is calm and confident, plus we have a stronger bond with her. We have the tools to continue honing the training and are excited to be able to take her anywhere without worry! We would recommend Carl to anyone.

Scheduled a consultation. They only use training programs with painful negative reinforcement for the dog. All their programs involve hurting the dog via spiked or shocking collars to get the dogs attention. I would not risk my dogs good natured temperament for this. Edit: in response to the owner. It would be one thing if these more extreme methods were recommended to dogs with extreme behavioral issues or if the trainer exhibited any control or confidence with my dog who was engaged and wanted to play. To not show me any sort of training process in person then recommend painful methods for a large 3 year old dog with zero aggression issues did not give me any faith my dog would be handled appropriately. The trainer said multiple times 'youre going to be a fun one ' to my dog before directly going into the shock collar thing again like he was looking forward to shocking my dog. My review was accurate.

Our dog Riot, a 10.5-year-old mix and now a senior, was in serious need of a reset. Before working with Calm K9, his manners were average at best—constant leash pulling, door reactivity, and despite multiple daily walks, he still had loads of unchanneled energy and anxiety. Things took a turn for the worse when I became pregnant with twins. Riot became a full-on anxious mess—I honestly thought he might try to jump out of a window. Once the babies arrived, his nervous energy skyrocketed. Riot became a safety concern and, to be frank, a royal pain during the newborn stage. Even 4 Trazodone tablets a day couldn’t calm him down. Desperate for help, we reached out to Calm K9 after reading so many positive reviews. While we were initially hesitant about e-collar training, I can now say with full confidence: I will only use e-collar training going forward. Any future dogs we have will absolutely train with David and Calm K9—no question. My only regret is not starting sooner. Not only did the training eliminate Riot’s problem behaviors, but it also corrected some unexpected ones: I don't have to tell him not to get on the couch and he no longer drools in anticipation at his food bowl, and the random barking? What barking? Riot genuinely enjoys having a job to do, and the training reinforced how much he thrives with structure and consistency. David also gave us the support and guidance we needed to show up for Riot in the right way—so he could clearly understand our expectations. That clarity has made all the difference. Riot now knows he’s doing a good job, and he feels like a good boy. He’s now our bestest boy, and we’re so proud of him. We feel completely at ease knowing he’s the most well behaved dogs both at home and in public.

My family adopted a 1 year old pit mix from a local shelter. She was not aggressive but was completely untrained and leash reactive and difficult to manage. I was initially reluctant to work with calm canine despite many of my friends having great success because I wasn't sure I felt about the e-collar. I quickly realized what a useful tool this is and, when used correctly, extremely humane and used primarily to get your dogs attention as the goal is to use the lowest level of stimulation possible. After this program, she is off leash trained, we can take her ANYWHERE and know she will behave. We are able to give her so much more freedom and a better quality of life because of this program. We chose the at-home boot camp which requires an incredible amount of time and work and you have to be willing to follow it exactly as you are taught. However if you are willing to put the work in, it is completely worth it. Highly recommend for a strong, rambunctious pup!
