Calm on Command K9

To say we’re grateful for finding Calm on Command K9 would be an understatement. I finally pulled the trigger and put our 5 year old Pit Onyx back in training and honestly it’s been the best money I’ve ever spent. I was fortunate to find them with a quick google search, something I had done time and time before. While I had reached out and spoken to other trainers none of them felt right or some just flat out didn’t respond. Rosie and RJ responded right away and set up a phone call to take the time to learn about Onyx, about the behaviors we were concerned about, and explain their training program in detail. They made it seem possible that our anxious dog could be calm and were very convincing that it was time to just go for it and they were right. Onyx had become more people and dog reactive in the past few years. Him meeting new people out during walks or coming over to our home would be met with consistent barking. Getting him to adjust to someone new was an ordeal that we began to just avoid because of the stress of it all and the time it took him to calm down and be comfortable. Walking past other dogs had become automatically growling and barking. Strangers who would talk to us just saying a simple hello or asking for directions would be met with growling and barking. There was consistent barking in the home when he would hear any little noise or knock. Onyx was just consistently on edge the majority of the time which at times would even lead him to react towards us. Seeing the change in just the 7 weeks we’ve worked with Rosie and RJ was insane. We were truly in awe of how quickly Onyx warmed up to them and learned. Onyx has learned so much and is able to heel during walks, lay down in public areas and stay put, adjust to strangers or new people with more ease, and overall be able to trust that we’re in control of situations so he doesn’t have to be. Shifting that power dynamic was huge for us, while difficult in the beginning with how that shift came about it has been well worth having a calm and comfortable dog. We’re also grateful for the amount of knowledge they’ve given us and how they trained us to be more consistent and disciplined dog parents. While dropping old habits and style that was only contributing to the behaviors we wanted to change. So if you’re looking for solid dog trainers I’d definitely say you found them. Added some pictures of Onyx placing indoors and staying put and calm with all the people around him. Literally something we didn’t even think was possible.

BEST IN THE BUSINESS. Where do I start… I came to RJ and Rosie a few months back after I rescued my girl Myla. She had some traumatic experiences in her short life of many different homes and shelters. But the biggest heart. She was the standard puppy who pulled on leash when walking. Not listening. Stubborn. Barking at other dogs. Chasing squirrels. RJ and Rosie took Myla in with open arms and worked around the clock showing her love and support to get her confidence and comfortable being a city dog. She has truly done a 180 and now can be incorporated into my life after her 4 week bootcamp. Seeing updates on social media makes it all exciting. I now take her to as many places as I can! RJ and Rosie not only care about the dogs but the owners as well. So blessed to have met them. They also give lifelong support and tune ups as well.

We own a very difficult 2.5 years old Rottweiler who has had extensive training with multiple types of trainers. He suffers from anxiety and fear aggression and is currently on medication. As he got older he became insanely reactive and before RJ and Rosie he was impossible to live with. He began redirecting on us and drawing blood. We became terrified to walk our own dog and had to muzzle him outside and avoid everything possible which is difficult in the city. He also had issues with anyone touching him that wasn’t us and because of his loss in trust in us, he began turning on us. We were close to behavioral euthanasia and we found Calm on Command K9 and decided this was our last try. RJ and Rosie took the time connecting and gaining Chester’s trust and reintroduced him to the ecollar in a way that made him comfortable, not nervous. He was previously on a double boss ecollar that was too much for the sensitive boy. Now we barely have to use it and have the regular educator collar and stay at very low numbers. Our relationship was restored with Chester after the 6 week bootcamp. While Chester will never be the perfect dog or perfect recovery story, we can enjoy our dog again without the constant fear of him redirecting. We still have to do a ton of work but RJ and Rosie rebuilt the foundation of this terrified dog and his relationship with his humans. Chester is back to his walks in the park and following all the advice of structure from RJ and Rosie he is a calmer dog who can enjoy the outside and life again full of love. I highly recommend and enjoyed working with them
