How long will it take to train my dog?
Length of time depends upon you, your dog, and your goals. In any one lesson, we can cover 1-3 topics over the course of an hour. You may wish to have multiple lessons on one topic. I researched alot of trainers to help me with a fearful older rescue dog who wasn't very accepting of my new puppy and to help my new puppy who was very shy at pretty much all new situations. The trainers here are awesome. First, they really allow to tailor their services to your dogs needs. Kelly worked with us and our dogs who made amazing progress in a short period of time. She helped us understand what our dogs were communicating and gave us tons of tools to help us help them. Maddi spent time with puppy socialization outings and we are seeing our shy puppy become much more confident. We couldn't be happier with the changes in our pups thanks to the whole team at Calvert Dog Academy!

I could not recommend Calvert Dog Academy more highly. We were fortunate to have Elizabeth as our trainer for Basic Manners Level II at the Humane Rescue Alliance. Elizabeth was knowledgeable, patient, and creative. All of the dogs in the class had different needs, and the pet parents had different levels of experience, and she was able to tailor her guidance to everyone. We have worked with three dog trainers since January, and Elizabeth was most certainly the best. If I were to take another class, I would want it to be with her.
My pup and I went to reactive dog class with Elizabeth and it was such a great experience! Elizabeth made us feel welcome, calm, and not judged, and was really good at meeting each participant where they're at to create a supportive skill building and practice environment. We look forward to taking more classes!
