Calvert Dog Training

Elizabeth is such a great trainer! She is very knowledgeable and you can see improvements after just a few classes. I have a reactive dog and just walking with her was becoming very challenging. After taking classes with Elizabeth there have been a huge improvement and now we and the dog are able to manage much much better. I would definitely recommend her to anybody dealing with reactivity or just someone who is in need of a trainer

I took a group training class through the Humane Rescue Alliance in DC and I can't say nicer things about my experience with Calvert Dog Academy! I've volunteered with dogs for years, but never taken a class before. I learned so much! Plus so much has changed since my family had dogs when I was younger. I really valued the positive reinforcement approach and the no-nonsense instructions and guidance. Sometimes I felt flustered because it's a lot of information to take in, but Elizabeth was supportive and encouraging. My dog improved so much over the course of 5 weeks! She walks politely on the leash now and has really improved in terms of paying attention to me when I need her to (when we encounter other dogs or animals, at street corners before we cross). I plan on taking more classes in the future to keep our education going. Shortly before the last session someone told me that my dog reminded her of her own dog only "better behaved," which was exciting for me to hear and a totally independent testament to the quality of Elizabeth's training classes and instruction.

Elizabeth was so helpful with our reactive dog! In just 5 weeks of classes we’ve noticed a big difference in how calm he is around other dogs and how much less he pulls on leash. She made everything really easy to understand and got us working with Hank to lower his reactivity rather than against him. We learned so much and Hank really enjoyed going to class and doing the work. I truly cannot recommend Elizabeth and Calvert Dog Academy more highly.
