FirstBarkAlex is an outstanding trainer. I could not be more impressed / satisfied with Hanks progress. Instructions prior to taking Hank home was very detailed but Alex made it easy to follow and understand. Alex makes himself available if you have any questions or concerns. Have your dog trained without any overnight boarding! Drop your dog off for daycare plus training in the mornings and take your dog home in the evenings. Your dog will be able to: wait at the door, sit, walk on a loose leash, come when called, place on an elevated object, and stop any unwanted behavior (off command). I’m so beyond happy that we chose Canine Academy and that Shannon was able to make such amazing progress with him! Not only did he come home a better behaved dog, but they sent so many updates showing how happy he was in play group and documenting the progress he was making in training! We just went for our follow up appointment and he was so happy to see all his friends again. I would definitely recommend booking with Canine Academy! Thanks again for all of your hard work Shannon!

We took our dog, Crew, to Canine academy’s board and train and they were excellent. We appreciated all of the photos they took of him and the entire training process. Crew wasn’t bad at all, but we could tell he was starting to push boundaries more and more. We did their puppy class in Columbus as well, which helped him with the basics, but we saw a huge difference after the board and train. The biggest part of their training is reinforcement at home and having two in person meetings after and two phone calls, which helped us with things we may not have known he does (diving into the snow while on walks). It is amazing to have Crew be in place while we eat, walk without pulling, not dart out of the door while bringing in groceries, and trusting him off leash during play time. 100/10 would recommend and when we do get another dog in the future we will send them here! You can see the photos at the board and train and the most recent walk we took where I can have him sit off leash to take a photo of him.

Our 14 month old golden retriever was a counter surfer who was completely disobedient. We were at our wit's end with him because we literally couldn't turn our back for a second without him grabbing whatever he could get from wherever he could get it. We couldn't cook without one person guarding the pot on the stove while the other gathered the ingredients. His trainer, Shannon, took the time to listen to all of our issues we were having and focused on breaking his bad habits. We came home with an entirely different dog and we couldn't be happier! I HIGHLY recommend them not only for the wonderful results, but the fact that Shannon and the care team sent us daily texts, videos, and pictures keeping us updated throughout the week. We knew he was being taken care of and the love they all had for the dogs they work with was evident. If you have a pup who has any type of behavior or just needs some basic obedience, I would definitely recommend the team at Canine Academy. Well worth the money!

We took our 7 y.o. dog to Canine Academy for their boarding and training services, overall we are happy with the results as it gave our dog a solid framework on how to behave better on walks, place commands and anxiety management. We finished the program with a better understanding of how and why our dog reacts to different stimulus and what to do to manage their behavior. Our trainer Shannon was great, after the boarding time was over she gave us very helpful tips during check-in calls and a few follow-up sessions. We would definitely recommend taking your dog to Canine Academy if your dog needs help with sit, stay, walk commands and anxiety management training.
