Canine Athletics Training Center

We have worked with Kirsten as part of All Star Dog Training & Agility and we are so excited for the new chapter of CATC. The center itself is an amazing set up for dog training, with plenty of room for agility classes as well as other classes. The team was thoughtful in creating a space for dogs to be crated between their runs on the agility course, bringing safety to the center, no matter the personality of the dogs at training. We have previously completed one on one training with Kirsten and Jae, as well as the intro to agility class. All of our experiences have been great and tailored to the individual needs of our dog. The team is well versed in all things “dog” and they provide great feedback and guidance from basics to the intricacies of handling a high energy dog through agility courses. Renting the agility space for our pup was also a fun opportunity to get some practice and “free play” in.

We have done several private training sessions with Kirsten to learn how to better handle our Aussie. The improvement has been amazing. Kirsten is kind and patient, and knows how to pivot when the dog (or usually the owner/handler) isn’t getting something quickly. We also have taken private lessons with Jae. Very similarly, she is knowledgeable and patient as we learn the language of our dog and how to best handle her. We most recently took an intro agility class with Kirsten with our 8 year old Aussie. It was such a great experience for everyone! We learned a lot about just how to better handle her and she had a blast at each session. Kirsten did a wonderful job managing multiple dogs and handlers and ensuring everyone was safe (dogs were not out at the same time.) This was super important to me, as my dog is not always the best with others. Additionally, we rented out the new space for 30 minutes and it was one of the best play dates for my dog (and me)! She got to run around and be her crazy self and we practiced a little bit too. We had a friend join us, both dogs were so happy and exhausted about 15 minutes. Money well spent. Can’t wait for our next course with this team!

Update: After making my complaint, this business kicked us out of the class. We did receive a refund, but are very disappointed, this is how they chose to handle our concerns. We’ve taken two classes here so far. The reason for two stars is what happened with the current class we are taking, Foundations of Agility. It was advertised as a 1 1/2 hour class. We signed up for the Thursday class and were pleasantly surprised that there were only three dogs. My dog can be anxious and can be overwhelmed and so I was happy she would have a little more practice time. The first week was great. But then another staff person showed up the second week and ended the class after we had done only one hour. I was confused and asked why. She said it was because there were only three dogs. I said, “nothing was said about this the first week nor in the description.” She brushed me off and sent us on our way. Not cool.
