Canine Coach Academy

We boarded and trained our dog, Tucker for 3 weeks and received frequent updates on his training, on how he was doing, and videos of his progress. We felt that Tucker was always in good hands and never had to worry. We adopted Tucker and didn’t know his history. He was a very fearful dog and gets anxious easily. Taking him on walks or trying to do basic training felt impossible and very frustrating. We wanted him to do outdoor activities with us and learn commands that would allow us to handle a chaotic household and not worry how Tucker would react. When we picked up Tucker, he met every need of his training that we required. Mikayla went through every step of their and how to continue the training very thoroughly. After the boarding, the training falls heavily on us. Mikayla has met with us a few times to ensure we are still training Tucker, to give us more tips and tricks, brush up on other training techniques, and customize some training to fit our home and lifestyle. We are very happy to have gone through this training process for Tucker! He is great on walks and listens to the commands in home. The raining has made a big difference in all our lives!

I could not be more thrilled with the quality of care and training my dog received (and continues to receive!) from Canine Coach Academy. We sent our three month old puppy (Otis) to the board and train program and when we picked him up, we were shocked at his progress. It was the best investment we could have made in our puppy, and we are looking forward to continuing to work with Canine Coach Academy on additional training! Highlights: Quality of Training: After completing the board and train, not only had Otis mastered basic puppy skills like housetraining, crate training, and staying on command (not easy for a lab with food in front of him!), but had progressed to heeling and the place command. Where Mikayla really stands out with her training is in follow up and the post sessions with the family. It is one thing to provide training for a dog, but Mikayla’s philosophy is that it is equally important to train the handler. There were several post sessions with our entire family, and Mikayla spent time with each of us, including our children, to make sure that we knew how to consistently reinforce what Otis had learned. In Home Care: During the boarding program, your dog stays in Mikayla’s home, and he or she is treated as part of her family. There is plenty of room in the yard to run around. One side benefit that we appreciated is that your dog will also have the opportunity for supervised socialization with her very well-trained dogs, something we found to be helpful for our puppy in learning “proper” etiquette. Knowledgeable: Mikayla is extremely well versed in training methods and will work with you to determine how to have the most success with your dog’s training. We learned a lot about not only training, but neutering, socializing, etc. Mikalya also provides training aids as part of the program, which is nice as your dog “graduates” to new leashes, etc. Communication: Mikayla sent us multiple videos and detailed emails over the program while Otis stayed with her. It was fun to see Otis’s progress over the program, and the different field trips, like to Home Depot, he took as part of the training. Ongoing Support: When you pick up your dog, the program doesn’t end. To this day, if we ever have a question or concern, Mikayla is extremely responsive and helpful. She is personally invested in our dog’s success, and it shows.
