Canine Initiative Training

Short Review: I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Canine Initiative Training! My trainer Mariana has been amazing with my dog Koa and I, and I’d recommend her and CIT to anyone! She’s patient, explains things well, and in general is a fun person to be around! Long Review: Thank you CIT for working with Koa and I! Koa came from a cruelty situation and had been at the shelter for months before I met him. Apparently I was the only person who’d ever shown interest in him and I was determined to rescue him. Unfortunately, due to some behavioral issues, a heartworm diagnosis, and my personal circumstances, I had to convince the shelter to give me a chance to find a trainer who’d work with us before I could adopt him. When I described my situation, most trainers left me feeling disheartened and hopeless because despite the vet giving me the ok to do stress-free training, they wouldn’t work with me until his heartworm treatment was complete and the shelter doesn’t start treatment until after adoption. Then the one trainer that said would work with me stopped responding right before we were supposed to meet/start the process, so again, I felt like we were back at square one. Then I found Canine Initiative Training and Mariana, who has helped me bring out the amazing dog I knew was hiding behind all the “crazy” and “aggression” that everyone else swore Koa had due to his breed. Today, Koa’s heartworm-free, in training to become a service dog, living his best life, and bringing joy back into mine! Thank you for helping me rescue my baby!

We had an amazing experience with Taylor who will be our trainer. Just having his expertise and advice has helped us tremendously to know if we are moving in the right direction with our pet training. Having that confidence is super important to us so Thank you Taylor and Canine Institute. Just one session and we are seeing a difference can’t wait to complete our 6 weeks and see all we can accomplish.

Wow! What can I say. Miriana is a gift from heaven. Myla is a 14 month American Terrier. We tried several trainers and then I met Hannah who introduced us to Mariana. Mariana is amazing! From being on time, communicating, and training us! She gives her entire self to the training. Now Myla can “place, wait, decreased jumping, walks with us” I never thought I could ever walk Myla because of the pulling. But on day one, thanks to Mariana, I got to see a calmer side of my baby Myla and we actually go on walks and without pulling. I could not have done this without Mariana’s training. Thank you Mariana for changing our lives.
