Honey’s story is one of resilience, second chances, and the power of the right people showing up at the right time. In August 2024, Honey—then Axel—was surrendered to a high-intake shelter in Prince George’s County and placed on a euthanasia list within a month. A rescue stepped in, and although I had only planned to transport her, her foster fell through—so, of course, I brought her home. She was the most terrified dog I had ever met—no trust, no training, and completely shut down. Slowly, with consistency and patience, she began to trust and show glimpses of the sweet dog she truly is. After being adopted, Honey unfortunately didn’t receive the structured training she needed, and behavioral challenges became prominent and persisted. Nearly a year later, she bit a visitor—a serious moment rooted in fear, not her true nature. When I was made aware of the incident, I took her back, without hesitation because I wholeheartedly believed in Honey and her good nature. Determined to give her the right support, we found Canine Karma Training. From the first consultation, I knew we were in the right place. Thanks to an incredibly generous donor, Honey was able to attend their program. After 45 days with David, Isabela, and the Canine Karma team, her transformation was remarkable. I saw the dog I always believed was still there—calm, confident, and capable. Now, just a month later, Honey is thriving. She is happy, secure, and continuing to grow every day. Canine Karma didn’t just change her behavior—they gave her clarity, confidence, and a true second chance. Their team, approach, and ongoing support are exceptional. If you commit to their program, it works. Honey may still be available for adoption… but we’re not so sure we’ll be letting her go. Look no further if you are in need of a board and train! Canine Karma was recommend by a friend and we are so glad we chose them. We sent Milo for their 45 day board and train for dog and human aggression. Milo used to struggle with walking by bikers, runners, and certain dogs and would not be very friendly when meeting new people. We would struggle on walks daily and were constantly stressed and overwhelmed. We began with a consultation and quickly realized that David was incredibly knowledgeable in not only dog training but psychology as well. He explained in simple terms why Milo was struggling and what they could do to help. We also met with Isabela for a nutrition consultation and she is equally as knowledgeable and experienced in the dog training and nutrition world! Once Milo was boarded, we immediately got put into a group chat with both owners and trainers. 30 minutes later we got our first picture and video! They kept us informed on any progress or difficulties throughout the 45 days and answered any questions we had promptly. All of the trainers treated Milo like their own and had no fear for his aggression. The trainers worked very hard in creating a solid foundation and now we get to continue the work back home! Since his time at Canine Karma has finished, Milo has been transformed. We spent about three hours during the out-process and got to see how much progress they made. They showed us how to reward / correct and what to do if he reacts. They made sure that we understood what was expected of us to continue the work to make sure Milo became the confident and amazing dog they knew he could be. Bringing him home to the environment where he struggled most was scary but their foundation was so strong that Milo has been thriving. Naturally, there is a transition period but he has quickly realized that what he was taught at Canine Karma also applies at home. We are so happy with how much Milo has changed and so grateful to all the trainers who worked and cared for Milo. I recommend Canine Karma to everyone and will definitely return for their other services!

Canine Karma Training are the BEST dog trainers you’ll ever find! My dog was aggressive to both dogs and people and had bitten multiple people in the past. I had tried other trainers but nothing worked. I did a 45 day Board and Train and the results were incredible. My dog is no longer aggressive!! She is more confident, happier, and even healthier because they recommended a food change that fixed her allergies. I am so thankful to have found them. They are worth every penny!!! 10000/5 stars!

I 100000% recommend Canine Karma Training. We brought in my dad’s 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Oscar, who was honestly a terror in the house. At his worst, he looked like a shark thrashing completely out of control and impossible to manage. After the board and train with Canine Karma, the difference is night and day. He now goes in and out of his crate calmly with no issues, and his overall behavior has completely changed. We’ve stayed consistent with the training plan hand feeding, heavy structure, and following all the post-training guidelines and we haven’t seen any signs of him reverting back to his old behavior.
