Canine Perspective Dog Training: Lincoln Park Office

It is unsafe for a dog to be muzzled unsupervised especially while alone in a crate. Canine Perapective did wrong in this respect. Leaving a dog muzzled is for it's safety and those around him. Canine perspective cannot justify why they left a dog muzzled for 5 days even when he is alone in a crate at night (sleeping). While there are muzzles that allow drinking and eating they are not meant for long time unsupervised use.

Do not use Canine Perspective, Inc. They left a muzzle on my dog without proper supervision for 5 straight days - even at night (while he is alone in his crate), which caused bleeding/blister skin irritation that no one noticed until I removed the muzzle when I picked him up. When I asked for any kind of muzzle breaks, they said no but that NOW staff will monitor his muzzle for skin irritation and rewrap it if needed - which as trained dog carriers they should've done in the first place. After being a client for nearly 1 year, this muzzle incident happened under their watch, and instead of trying to figure something out I was informed that they all of a sudden decided that my dog is “no longer a good fit” at their establishment. The owner Jesse is condescending and hides behind emails that he has the secretary send instead of dealing with any issues himself. If/when a problem occurs seems they would rather cut you as a client over working out a resolution plan. (If anyone from Canine Perspective objects to any of the above I am happy to post the emails they sent me that states all of this) Photos are from 5 days post incident with the muzzle.

I found Canine Perspective on social media and based on the results I saw I new I wanted to take my dog Blu there. I did a consult with Enrique. I honestly wanted to work on Blu's leash manners and jumping. I'd have to say after working with Enrique my dog has made a 180 change. He walks in heel, he doesn't lunge at or jump on strangers and he's better at ignoring other dogs. He also has really good recall! I feel a lot more comfortable taking Blu to public places and I can't thank Enrique enough. I'd definitely recommend Enrique and Canine Perspective to anyone in the Chicago area looking for dog training.

This place seems like a scam to me. My dog bit me to the point where I needed stitches and I was up all night long trying to find someone to help me on the internet so I didn't have to put my dog down. I found this place and paid the $125 consultation fee in a moment of desperation. Meanwhile it took them 3 days to get back to me to even schedule a consultation. In that time I had managed to find another trainer who I had coming out to my house before they even got back to me. I asked for a refund even though the policy states no refunds because I already found a trainer I'm not going to confuse my dogs and myself by getting a consultation by someone else. They were adamant about no refunds still, so they literally just took my money. I paid them $125 for absolutely nothing. They are taking advantage of people in moments of weakness and desperation looking for help with their dogs. I wouldn't recommend even if the training is good because they are very money hungry it seems and that is never a good quality in a dog training program in my experience.
