Canine Perspective Dog Training: Lincoln Park Office

A lot of our grooming clients come from Canine Perspective, and on their first few visits we see fear and nervousness which sometimes leads to aggression. As time went on the dogs have changed, which shows us that their training methods here are amazing and very effective. Our clients rave about him, We love Jesse and his team, and we highly recommend him to all our customers that walk threw our doors.

I went to Maddie for one session and CAN NOT bring myself to go back. She means well, but her training methods are needlessly cruel. I do not think her results justify it. Maddie advocates for prong collars and e collars. This is animal abuse and does not feel good for your dog. It might get your dog to listen, but keep in mind they are a living creature who has feelings to. If you love your dog, find a trainer who values positive reinforcement training. There is no reason to cause them discomfort. If a trainer can not achieve their goals with positive reinforcement, they are a quack. Before you trust Maddie, put on a prong collar and attach it to a large reactive dog. you will see how it feels for your furry friend There is a controversial movement within dog training that applies some of these light methods of corporal punishment called aversives. Its spread primarily through social media as a trend. Theyve developed a language to debate and justify it, but its still animal abuse. Im sure Maddie will say it doesn't cause injury or isn't extremely painful, and sure this is true. But slight pain, stress, and discomfort are not things we should cause to dogs or other animals we care for. Instead, set realistic goals and love your dog. Do what I did and find another trainer. What Maddie is doing is not normal.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Jesse and everyone at Canine Perspective (Enrique, Bri, Cory, Maddie, & Maria). I was originally drawn to their facility after finding them doing talented pack walks with such well behaved and focused dogs. Maria made scheduling so easy to get my dog, Pepper, evaluated. They advised me on what they thought would be the best for Pepper, given my goals for her and where she was at during those trial days. I purchased a daycare and train package with the team after really wanting my dog to be off leash trained and improved obedience, something I had tried with previous facilities. The individual attention my dog has received is so evident in her daily progress, this is what stands out the most to me. I receive daily updates on their Instagram page which is so sweet and comforting to see. Her training skills have never improved so quickly. In addition, the time and energy put into the training videos and in person time to transfer her learned skills is beyond appreciated. Each trainer is very knowledgeable, honest, and has always gone the extra mile to answer all of my questions. I have never felt rushed, they clearly want to make their clients feel comfortable about the process. I absolutely love that they take Pepper on pack walks and provide her with the socialization that she needs, with varying environments and distractions. The facility itself is very clean. Every time my dog is getting dropped off, she is thrilled to see any staff member come out the door to bring her in! I will continue to recommend this team over and over again to anyone looking for structured daycare and training that wants to see real progress, along with making the time to learn and keep it up. I will be bringing Pepper here for daycare and boarding, in which they continue to implement the skills she has learned. You should feel comfortable bringing your dog here for any service!
