Do you provide dog boarding or daycare?

We offer boarding and day school days ( daycare is just playtime, our day school days include play group as well as training sessions) for all of our graduates. If the owners of our graduates have multiple dogs we are happy to include the other family dog for boarding. We are happy to consider graduates of other training programs for our boarding and day school on a case by case basis.

Question on Google
Do you offer a guarantee from your programs?

No one can guarantee anything about a dog’s behavior. Anyone that does is making a false promise. All dogs are different, come with different experiences, & their behaviors are influenced by so many factors before & after training that are outside of the control of trainers, and even owners. However, we offer lifetime support to all our program graduates. We guarantee our lifetime support. Whatever future problems you and your pup may have, we will be there to assist you in finding solutions.

Question on Google
Do you do any dog grooming or other services?

We offer baths, nail trims. And coat maintenance for all dogs in any of our programs. We will even work with dogs who struggle with nail trims on handling and behavior for nail trims.

Question on Google
What if my dog has gone through a different program already?

If your dog was not successful in another training program we would love a chance to evaluate your pup to see how we can help! We have been the second, third, or fourth trainer for many of our clients, and we are happy to report that while we may not have been the first trainer they called we were the last one they worked with because we got the job done. We also offer our lifetime support including our group class, day school days, and boarding privileges to graduates of other dog training programs on a case by case basis.

Question on Google
Are your classes for general training, or can you work with my dog for a specific issue?

During the intake for your dog, we ask about the specific issues you would like us to work on with your dog. So, not only does your dog work on basic obedience skills but also individual issues your dog may have.

Question on Google
Are your classes just day classes?

Our Day School is offered during the day. You drop off your furry friend in the morning and pick them up in the evening. For more extensive training, your dog can attend our Boarding School. This hybrid model trains basic obedience during the day and house manners at night. Once your dog graduates from our program, we have a variety of classes they can attend to polish their skills.

Question on Google
Do you just train the dogs, or can I do classes with them?

Our training generally involves us doing the heavy lifting by getting as many repetitions in with the dogs while they are in for school, so that their people have less homework to do at home, and can have relatively easy success when they are working with their dog. Each program does provide mini group lessons, or private lessons, or a combination of the two both at our facility and in the owners home to make sure the new behaviors your dog learns at school are just as perfect at home. Our lifetime support program includes a group class for all of our graduates so you can take your dogs skills on the road to practice around other dogs, their owners, and in new environments.

Question on Google
What kinds of equipment do you use?

At Canine Sports Dog Training we choose training equipment based on each individual dog’s needs. Rather than using the same training tools for each dog, or limiting ourselves on what we will or will not use, we evaluate each dog, as well as their owner and their owner’s lifestyle to determine what training tools and methodologies would be the best fit for each individual case.

Question on Google
What education or certifications do you have?

Emily and Natalie have over 20 years of experience combined. This experience includes mentorships with some of the best in the business, and a ton of continuing education in the form of seminars, webinars, and professional groups. Dog training is a severely unregulated industry and specific certifications belong to the private companies that offer them, rather than paying into this system of for profit education we have chosen to pursue the best trainers in the world to continue our education rather than pursuing certifications from private entities.

Question on Google
What training methods do you use?

At Canine Sports Dog Training we practice a Humane Training Approach that focuses on the bond between person and dog. The most important aspects of any relationship are communication and trust. That is the foundation of our training methods; and our programs can be fully customized to suit you and your dog’s needs.

Mazzy Star (German Shepherd) has been trained so well! She loves Emily. Emily has been over to our home multiple times to help with in-home training & outdoor training. I recommend training from Canine Sports to everyone who has a dog. It’s so nice to hear - “your dog is so well behaved.” Such a good girl! I only bring my dog here for any kind of boarding, as well. They take great care of her!

I wholeheartedly recommend Canine Sports. I brought my pitbull in for two rounds of puppy class, and then continued with agility training for about five years. We also participated in pack walks, drop in classes, day care, and boarding. After an at-home incident with my dog, Emily and Natalie helped with reinforcing good dog manners. If we didn’t live out of state now, we would still be visiting with Emily and Natalie! The consistent training and support helped my dog to be a solid listener and enabled him to run off-leash at the parks, living his best dog life!

I genuinely cannot recommend Emily enough. I got Burt almost a year ago and quickly realized I was in over my head with a strong, very excited dog. I honestly don’t know if I would’ve been able to keep him without Emily and her training program. The difference in Burt is incredible. Emily gave me the tools and confidence to understand him and handle him in pretty much any situation. Almost a year later, he’s my absolute best friend and I’m so grateful for everything she did for both of us. Truly one of the best things I ever did for Burt and myself.

We knew we would return to Canine Sports Dog Training with our second 12-week old puppy. Trainer Emily is beyond just knowledgeable with dog training, she is completely in tune with dogs and can effectively communicate to the humans (adult and children) what the humans need/want to do to meet their goals. We learned so much from Emily and her team in the past 6 weeks that we feel confident to continue training on our own. Our puppy is also now confident, happy, and well-mannered (reasonably so)! Looking forward to the polishing, grad school lessons, and maybe even a board and train!

We could not be happier with our experience using the services of Canine Sports Dog Training! Our 2 year old Australian Shepherd is a real doll, but try as I might I could not get her to quit pulling on the leash. I tried everything, including using two other trainers, but Winter just wouldn’t stop the pulling, making walking her a horrible experience— and I say this having owned and trained an 80lb collie, two shelties and a 60lb Australian Shepherd. None of them were as tough to train on the leash as Winter (she did fine with all of her other training.) Boarding her for two weeks of intensive training really did the trick!! She came home the same happy, loving dog — but one with DRASTICALLY improved behavior. The training was not inexpensive, but it was worth every penny — especially since my wife can now SAFELY walk Winter without any fear of being pulled to the ground (she’s that strong!) Thanks a million to Natalie and everyone else at CSDT! You folks are awesome!
