Do you provide dog boarding or daycare?
We offer boarding and day school days ( daycare is just playtime, our day school days include play group as well as training sessions) for all of our graduates. If the owners of our graduates have multiple dogs we are happy to include the other family dog for boarding. We are happy to consider graduates of other training programs for our boarding and day school on a case by case basis.

Yes, we do not have any breed restrictions

Do you offer a guarantee from your programs?
No one can guarantee anything about a dog’s behavior. Anyone that does is making a false promise. All dogs are different, come with different experiences, & their behaviors are influenced by so many factors before & after training that are outside of the control of trainers, and even owners. However, we offer lifetime support to all our program graduates. We guarantee our lifetime support. Whatever future problems you and your pup may have, we will be there to assist you in finding solutions.

Do you do any dog grooming or other services?
We offer baths, nail trims. And coat maintenance for all dogs in any of our programs. We will even work with dogs who struggle with nail trims on handling and behavior for nail trims.

What if my dog has gone through a different program already?
If your dog was not successful in another training program we would love a chance to evaluate your pup to see how we can help! We have been the second, third, or fourth trainer for many of our clients, and we are happy to report that while we may not have been the first trainer they called we were the last one they worked with because we got the job done. We also offer our lifetime support including our group class, day school days, and boarding privileges to graduates of other dog training programs on a case by case basis.

Are your classes for general training, or can you work with my dog for a specific issue?
During the intake for your dog, we ask about the specific issues you would like us to work on with your dog. So, not only does your dog work on basic obedience skills but also individual issues your dog may have.

Are your classes just day classes?
Our Day School is offered during the day. You drop off your furry friend in the morning and pick them up in the evening. For more extensive training, your dog can attend our Boarding School. This hybrid model trains basic obedience during the day and house manners at night. Once your dog graduates from our program, we have a variety of classes they can attend to polish their skills.

Do you just train the dogs, or can I do classes with them?
Our training generally involves us doing the heavy lifting by getting as many repetitions in with the dogs while they are in for school, so that their people have less homework to do at home, and can have relatively easy success when they are working with their dog. Each program does provide mini group lessons, or private lessons, or a combination of the two both at our facility and in the owners home to make sure the new behaviors your dog learns at school are just as perfect at home. Our lifetime support program includes a group class for all of our graduates so you can take your dogs skills on the road to practice around other dogs, their owners, and in new environments.

What kinds of equipment do you use?
At Canine Sports Dog Training we choose training equipment based on each individual dog’s needs. Rather than using the same training tools for each dog, or limiting ourselves on what we will or will not use, we evaluate each dog, as well as their owner and their owner’s lifestyle to determine what training tools and methodologies would be the best fit for each individual case.

What education or certifications do you have?
Emily and Natalie have over 20 years of experience combined. This experience includes mentorships with some of the best in the business, and a ton of continuing education in the form of seminars, webinars, and professional groups. Dog training is a severely unregulated industry and specific certifications belong to the private companies that offer them, rather than paying into this system of for profit education we have chosen to pursue the best trainers in the world to continue our education rather than pursuing certifications from private entities.

What training methods do you use?
At Canine Sports Dog Training we practice a Humane Training Approach that focuses on the bond between person and dog. The most important aspects of any relationship are communication and trust. That is the foundation of our training methods; and our programs can be fully customized to suit you and your dog’s needs.

Uh yeah, this place is legendary. My fiance and I got our dog from a shelter that now is under investigation for animal rights violations (on accident via pet finder). We got Otto and I'm telling you that he had some serious serious fear/anxiety issues. He couldn't go outside for 3 months. Every time we tried he'd freak out and poop himself on the sidewalk. In that same first 3 months otto hid under the bed and refused to leave. Me and meg were at a TOTAL loss on what to do. We're first time dog owners living in one of the loudest cities in the country, far from the ideal place for our deeply disturbed little lad. Cue Emily our hero and savior. Emily not only was a caring trainer in direct practice, but she also gave us tools to address Otto's issues as his parents. We ended up through emily doing variations of exposure therapy with otto and leash training, that completely transformed Otto's life from a traumatized, (likely) puppy mill victim, to a happy boy who thrives in the city, loves belly rubs, and can be watched by any of our friends when we're gone. Genuinely, Meg and I couldn't be more thankful for the work that Emily did as a trainer for Otto. Emily is just a good person. I'd recommend her to anyone. La 1st photo is how he looked when we first got him and the other three are PRESENT day. Look at that happy dapper boy.

We cannot say enough nice things about Canine Sports Dog Training! The team are the best in their field. We adopted Potato and were overwhelmed with how to handle his training. We even tried training classes at a different facility, but nothing seemed to help. It wasn't until after we discovered their Spectacular Dog program that we saw real changes in his behavior. Not only do the trainers know how to train dogs, but they were also great at training us, which I'm sure was the biggest challenge! Potato no longer pulls on walks, is polite when he sees other dogs, and is working toward becoming a refined young gentleman. The best part about the program is that they offer lifetime support, which has been so helpful for us. My wife and I highly reccommend! They have all sort of options for training. If you are in need of dog training on any level, please check them out.

Our dog was with them for three weeks and she came back transformed. Joe (another trainer working with the Canine Sports Dog Training) has been extremely helpful in transferring their training techniques to us. He is very clear and always ready to answer questions. These guys clearly are experts at what they do.

We adored our experience with Canine Sports and would recommend them to everyone. Our pup Hailey loved her time there and visibly loved everybody who worked with her / us. We signed her up for the 4-week drop-off class and saw HUGE improvements in her behavior and her happiness! We used to be afraid to take her on runs or have guests over due to some of her behavioral issues (she was not socialized when she was a puppy), but now she's able to hang out with people, other dogs, be playful and polite as appropriate, and go on runs! We're so grateful to the Canine Sports team for helping her thrive! The weekly homework, regular video updates, and chats with the team when we dropped off / picked up Hailey each day were very informative and enjoyable. We also worked one-on-one with Joe in a few in-home training sessions. He has been SO helpful and has answered all our questions / concerns with great thoughtfulness. When we were out of town for a weekend we also seamlessly boarded Hailey with Canine Sports. We'll definitely be returning here for all our pup needs far into the future!
