I can not say enough great things about Heather and Cannon Canine!! We brought our 7 month old puppy, Clyde, to Heather to work on some basic skills. For 4 weeks, Heather worked with Clyde and we are beyond happy with his progress. He is a very excited dog and had some problems jumping on others, pulling on the leash when walking, and bolting out of his crate and the door before we wanted him to exit. With her help, we were able to fix all of these behaviors. He heels without needing a leash on walks, sits and waits to be released to get out of his crate and the door, and follows commands when we have guests over to prevent jumping. Heather was constantly in communication with us when Clyde was with her, sending pictures of him and videos of what she was teaching him. If you are looking for a trainer who truly cares about your dog and does an amazing job in training your dog, Heather is the girl for you!

We are so grateful for Heather at Cannon Canine Dog Training. We started working with her earlier this year with our Golden Retriever puppy, Buster, who is sweet, social, full of energy, and very easily distracted. Heather helped us through all of those classic puppy challenges, from mouthing and jumping to pulling on walks and getting overstimulated around people and distractions. We began with in-home lessons where Heather took the time to teach us how to work with him, coached us through what we were doing, and adjusted each lesson based on what we were struggling with most at the time. She was also incredibly flexible with scheduling, which was very helpful to us since my husband does not work typical hours. After many at-home lessons, we decided to do Heather’s board and train program while we were out of town, and it made such a huge difference for Buster. He came home with so much more confidence and structure, and we saw major improvements in his walking, listening skills, and especially his ability not to jump on people. Heather kept us updated, made sure we understood what he was learning, and helped us feel comfortable continuing everything at home. What really stood out to us was how kind, understanding, and accommodating Heather was throughout the whole process. We had some unexpected car trouble that caused several scheduling issues, and she was nothing but patient and helpful, even offering to help with transportation for Buster when we needed it. Buster has come such a long way, and so much of that is because of Heather’s guidance, patience, and genuine care. He is still the goofy, lovable Golden Retriever we adore, just so much more well-behaved and manageable. If you are looking for someone who truly cares about both your dog and your family, I cannot recommend Heather enough.

The training was amazing and life changing! We have a 2 year old Pit mix who is a ball of energy and needed an outlet for it. My wife and I were expecting our first child and had concerns about how our dog would be around our baby. We did the 45 day board and train with Cannon Canine Training and got back a completely different dog in all the right ways. It eliminated our concerns instantly and has made life so much easier for us! We would absolutely recommend the training!

The private 1:1 lessons with Heather transformed our young, newly adopted, St Bernard mix into a well behaved member of our household. Having a dynamic family life with aging parents, additional dogs and cats visiting our home, and a neighborhood full of other dogs and walkers, Heather shared with us tools and techniques that taught us how to have a peaceful home with our dog. Heather takes the time to discuss and listens to our questions and concerns and addresses them with educated knowledge. We are so thankful for Heather’s training and will be using her service again soon to help introduce our dog to a new baby in the family!

Our 10 month old lab, Max, made life in our home complete chaos every day. He had many bad behaviors; he was bossy and quickly made most days very challenging. Since his board and train with Heather he has returned a new Max. Heather fixed every one of his bad habits! Max came home calm and no longer trying to control us. But best of all she trained me so I no longer confuse Max with my terrible training methods. Max is responding to commands so well now, I hope to get him into agility training in the future. Heather understands dogs and can really transform a mis-behaving pup into an awesome dog you are proud of. If you have problems with your pup, I highly recommend Cannon Canine Training.
