Chomps Dog Training

I sent my 6 month old Husky to Nick and his team because he was going after my older dog and reacting other dogs on walks. It had gotten to the point that I couldn't take him out on walks for fear of him reacting or even let him loose in my own fenced back yard off leash because I'd have to chase him for him to come back to me. I knew that Huskies howled naturally (my older dog is also a Husky), but my puppy Gignac could not stop howling and barking at every little sound. It was exhausting. I needed to get him trained before he got even more out of hand. Nick responded to my training request within minutes, and once I sent Gignac, he gave me multiple updates on his progress every day. He always answered any questions that I had almost immediately and really made me feel confident that my boy was in good hands. After about 4 weeks in the behavior modification program, I met with Nick to pick up Gignac and learn how to maintain everything that he had learned. I legitimately felt like I was getting a different dog back. My stubborn Husky was now completely off leash reliable, did not pull on leash, did not react to dogs, and responded to me telling him to be quiet when he did howl out of the blue. I was nervous to bring him back home to my older dog, but Nick laid out a plan to re introduce them and manage them in day to day situations. They have not had a single incident since Gignac graduated almost 5 months ago. He has been amazing on walks (no reactions to other dogs either) and I can now take him on off-leash hikes and know that he will come back as soon as I call him. I can't recommend Chomps enough. The investment is more than worth it, and Gignac's obedience is to this day mind blowing to me.

I couldn’t recommend Nick at Chomp more. Our pup Benny was showing signs of aggression early on that many people told us he would grow out of. We spent several months working with a trainer in our home and saw no improvements in benny’s behavior and our last trainer told us that Benny will never not be an aggressive dog. Unfortunately he had bit a few of our friends prior and eventually did bite a groomer bad enough she needed stitches. Benny now is on record with animal control and we were told that if he bites another person there will be consequences that could result in him being put down. We were super flustered and anxious bringing our dog anywhere or around people and had to keep a muzzle on him just to be safe, which wasn’t good for us or Benny. Some friends had recommended ecollar training and we were trying alternative and cheaper training options prior. Do not waste your time or money on anything but ecollar training!! Bringing Benny to chomps literally saved his life. Benny still is a funky dog sometimes but we now have the tools and the foundation to control him in situations that he may have previously been aggressive in. I forgot to mention he’s a 110+ lb Bernese mountain dog, so he’s a lot to handle. Before training we could barely walk him on a leash without nearly dislocating our arms, he would never come when called and I would spend forever at dog parks chasing him down to get him back on a leash, and he could not be around strangers without barking and growling constantly. Nick and his brother and girlfriend are miracle workers. Benny now comes on command and walks right by my side without pulling. He goes right into his kennel when told to and can hold a place in busy places or within our home when needed. He is still the goofiest and wild dog at times which we really wanted to make sure he wouldn’t loose his personality with this training but he most certainly did not. He has not had a single biting incident since the training and we are now able to recognize his body language and remove him from a situation that he is clearly uncomfortable with thanks to Chomps. Another amazing part about training with these guys is their responsiveness. I constantly text them asking for tips and questions and they always get back to me and offer to meet in person if appropriate. We have had a few follow up sessions just to reinforce the training and whenever Benny sees Nick again he goes nuts and is so excited. It’s so obvious how much they care about training dogs appropriately but also tailored to you individually. This might have been a bit scrambled but overall I highly recommend boarding with Chomps, it will change yours and your dogs life.

We could not be more satisfied with Nick, his team and their ability to train and rehabilitate dogs. Our dog Moose is a rescue that had some aggressive tendencies and unpredictable behavior. On top of that, he’s a big boy and smart. Needless to say, the typical puppy classes weren’t cutting it for him. Luckily a friend of ours recommended Chomps! Moose went through the behavior modification program as well as the basic obedience and we now how a calm, confident and well-behaved dog. We are able to provide him with the structure he needs, trust him and help him live a much happier life. Nick has a keen ability to identify a dogs needs. He is clear and direct with his training which allows for an easy transition after your dog returns home from a program. Nick and his team are all around great people. They are responsive and happy to answer questions. Even after the training program has ended, they’ve kept in touch and check up on Moose frequently. If you are having second thoughts on sending your dog to Chomps- don’t!

I took my Pit Bull to Chomps and they took great care of her and trained her incredibly well. Prior to training, she would lunge at other dogs on walks and got into a couple of fights at the dog park. She was with the staff for 4 and a half weeks and she came back a different dog, no more lunging at other dogs and walking normal next to me. They were also able to point out that she wasn't an aggressive dog but was more scared of the high energy/spastic dogs. They also taught me how to pick up mannerisms and some of the body language that she was exhibiting. I have been able to have her off leash on walks and in the front yard and other people and dogs can walk by and she doesn't care anymore. I have been extremely happy with the program they had us go through and my dog is now able to go just about anywhere with me.

Chomps Dog Training changed Brick's life. My bulldog, Brick, is a rescue with severe separation anxiety and fear aggression behaviors. It was hard for us to have guests over, leave for vacation, or just leave for an afternoon. Brick could be destructive or even lash out at family and friends. We tried multiple dog trainers with no success, he even lashed out at one of his first trainers. Chomps Dog Training changed everything! We signed up for the 3 week behavioral program, Brick needed 6 weeks. Now he is a completely different dog! He's so much happier, loves to go on his walks, allows guests to come over and pet him, play and even cuddle with him. If he ever shows any signs of aggression or anxiety, we now know exactly what to do to calm him down and make him feel safe. Chomps changed everything for us!
