Clever Canine Dog Training

Went back about 8 months later to take a class. We completed the Great in 8 course last year and were given free classes to take in the future. It was like we never left. Mandy and her staff remembers us like it was yesterday. If you want a place to learn about your dog's behavior and you...this place is the best. We have a training facility near us but we choose to drive the hour to get to Clever Canines because they really care about the family dog.

I recommend Clever Canine to anyone who is interested in learning fair and balanced training methods for their dog. The do a lot of treat work and also teach proper correction methods. A lot of the negative reviews on here mention choking and crying animals. That was not the case with me. I have trained dogs with choke chains for correction in the past, Clever Canine uses prong collars for correction, which may look scary, but are very effective, and safer then choke chains when used properly. They taught me how to use the prong collar properly and were very clear on how not to use it as well. Clever Canine has also done a wonderful job helping me raise and train my black lab Wally. At around 5 months of age Wally started becoming over excited and difficult to control around other dogs and people. In one session Steve worked with Wally and I and created a simulated distracting environment with his own dog and several other staff members. After about 20 minutes Wally was acting completely different. He went from a rambunctious ball of energy to a well behaved polite dog. Now with all that in mind, don't expect to show up for a couple sessions and have great dog. When class is over you need to take what you've learned and apply it and keep working with your dog.
