Coaching 4 paws

Our 8 month old Collie puppy just completed the 3 week training program at Coaching 4 Paws with coach Caroline and we are very satisfied with the results. Our pup did not have any major behavior issues to start with, but she is very intelligent, energetic, and needed some structure to help set her up for success as we move towards adulthood. For the first half of the program we used the included boarding portion of the program while we were on vacation and we had no concerns about the care our pup was receiving. We received a summary of her training, eating, sleeping, weight, and general wellbeing multiple times a week as well as additional communications as needed. After we returned home we continued to bring her daily. After training our pup knows sit, down, place, heel, recall, among other basic commands. She had shown major progress in staying calm when meeting new dogs or people and she is generally much more receptive to commands. The training was done with many different people and environments. Included in the training are lifetime group training sessions held twice a week that we will be utilizing to continue reinforcing her training. Coach Caroline went above and beyond with our pup caring for her as if she was one of her own dogs and it’s clear that she is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her job. You won’t regret the training programs Coaching 4 Paws has to offer.

We had rescued our 8 month old Rottweiler Shaq from a neglectful situation a couple months ago. We had one instance of aggression from him after about one week which prompted me to look into training programs. While he had some bad behaviors, we knew he was so smart and such a good dog but just needed the proper tools. He loves to test boundaries and I did not feel well equipped to address some behaviors without guidance. I signed him up for the 3-week board and train and put all my trust in Caroline and the other staff there. I always felt updated and in the loop with his training. They took such good care of him and he is still my goofy boy but is way more respectful of commands and boundaries. They reassured me that he was such a good dog and I know he will continue to excel! My precious boy Milo was super reactive since the day he came home with me. So much so that I no longer felt confident on walks, and definitely did not bring him to any busy public places. I signed Milo up for a board and train on a whim as I was going on vacation. This was the best decision I ever made! While on my trip I received thorough updates during the week. And I loved seeing the adorable photos and videos post of him on Instagram. I’ve never been able to take such good photos of him on my own. I saw a huge difference in him from pick up. I learned a lot and was provided great information on how to use the commands they taught him. I would recommend this to any one if you have the funds. Money well spent !

Leaving one star because zero is not an option! I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dog training facility and feel compelled to share it for other pet owners considering their services. I enrolled my dog with the goal of improving her behavior, confidence, and overall well-being. While I understood there were no guarantees, I was assured during my consultation that I could expect results. Unfortunately, the exact opposite occurred. Since beginning training, I observed a significant decline in my dog's behavior and temperament. She became increasingly anxious, reactive, and stressed. While my puppy was not perfect and, like any young dog, had behaviors that needed work, she was always friendly, social, and had never shown aggression toward other dogs. She lived peacefully with the other dog in our household and had never exhibited the severe behavioral issues that developed during this program. Most concerning, she began displaying serious aggression toward our other dog—behavior that was completely out of character and had never been present before training. The aggression escalated to the point where I became genuinely concerned for the safety and well-being of both dogs. Rather than seeing improvement, I watched my dog's confidence deteriorate and her behavior worsen. What began as a friendly puppy with normal training needs became a dog struggling with anxiety, reactivity, and aggression that simply did not exist prior to entering this program. After careful consideration and research, I determined that continuing the program was not in her best interest and decided to pursue alternative training methods focused on positive reinforcement. What has made this experience even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication and accountability from ownership. I repeatedly requested to speak with the owner regarding my concerns, the significant decline in my dog's behavior, and the substantial financial investment I made in a program that was producing harmful results rather than positive ones. Despite multiple requests, I have received absolutely no response. At this point, I am left wondering if posting a public review is the only way to get anyone's attention. As a paying customer who entrusted this facility with my dog's training and well-being, I should not have to resort to publicly sharing my experience just to receive a response. Ignoring serious concerns from a client whose dog experienced such a dramatic behavioral decline is unacceptable. I invested a considerable amount of time, trust, and money into this program. I understand that not every training method works for every dog, but I expected honesty, accountability, and communication when legitimate concerns arose. Instead, my concerns were ignored, my requests for contact went unanswered, and I was left to address the fallout from behavioral issues that developed during training on my own. As of 8/18/26, I wanted to provide a brief update to my original review. Following my Google review, the owner did reach out to me directly, and we were able to discuss and reconcile some of the discrepancies and concerns I had regarding my dog’s training and the communication surrounding her program. I appreciate the owner taking the time to contact me and address my concerns. While I do not feel the need to remove my original review, as the experiences I described did occur, I feel it is only fair to clarify that communication was ultimately established and my concerns were heard. I am updating my review to provide a complete and accurate account of my experience, including the concerns I initially had as well as the communication and resolution that followed.

I’m thrilled with my experience at Coaching for Paws! My dog, Harry, had an amazing time at the school. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout his boarding period. They kept me updated with pictures and detailed information about Harry’s progress and the lessons he was working on. The communication was prompt and clear, making it easy for me to stay informed. I could sense the genuine enjoyment the staff had in working with Harry and helping me achieve his training goals. Overall, the experience was stress-free and hassle-free. I highly recommend Coaching for Paws to all dog parents!
