Originally from the UK, I now reside in Sarasota, Florida. I have gained extensive experience working with dogs since 1997 and have been professionally training since 2007, teaching group and private lessons. I have experience working with behavioral issues such as reactivity; and teaching dogs and puppies life skills, manners and obedience. My training approach is "least intrusive, minimally aversive" (LIMA), the aim of which is to train your dog with minimal adverse side effects. My training plan is adjusted for each and every dog.

Dawn, what are your charges for one-on-one training with older dogs?
Hi Peg. If I come to your home it is $75 an hour. If you come to my home $60 an hour. That includes, handouts and follow up questions that pertain to that lesson. 6 lesson package and 4 lesson package has a discounts. All prices are on my website. Absolutely the best!!! Looking for a a dog trainer who understands dogs and wants the best for your pup and you? Look no further! COAST DOG Training by Dawn Bennett is who you want. My 10 month old Mini Aussie became leash reactive towards anything that moved. Dawn spent time to figure out what was the cause and worked with us to help him become more confident. She also gave me strategies to work on at home. After her lessons she reviewed what was done in training and gave me handouts to take home I could refer to. I found that quite helpful. She has a very calm nature, is extremely knowledgeable, and highly trained. He has come a long way in a very short time and he just loves her! She truly cares, loves dogs, and has such a way with them. A true dog whisperer.
Dawn is a great dog trainer. She is very patient and helpful. She communicate with us, understand our need. Train our puppy very very well. Thank you a lot, Dawn.
Dawn was kind enough to spend time with me on the phone talking about my dog and her behaviours. We are not located in her training area but will highly recommend to anyone in Sarasota.
