I had a great experience with Control Is Key. Matt went out of his way to fit our puppy into his schedule as best he could. The daily updates were fantastic, and we could tell our puppy’s training environment was safe and loving. Our puppy received training exposure tailored to our lifestyle (parks/kids) and upon return, her retention has thus far surpassed our expectations. I highly recommend this dog training company. They care for your pet like their own.

Control is Key trained my 11 week old rottweiler puppy “Nyx”. I highly recommend Mike for anyone in need of expert puppy training – especially their board and train program! I was impressed with their two week boarding program, during that time they worked on housebreaking, crate training, and establishing a routine. Mike made the entire process stress-free and positive from the very beginning. During the overnight training, my puppy received consistent care, structure, and gentle guidance. I was amazed at the progress in such a short time. Not only was my puppy sleeping through the night and 98% potty trained, but she was also learning basic commands and becoming more confident and calm. Mike kept me updated with pictures, videos, and progress messages, which made me feel confident in their care. They clearly love what they do and it shows in the way they treat both the dogs and their owners. When picking up my puppy, Mike took the time to teach me the commands and how to present those commands to my puppy enabling me to continue training my puppy at home. If you are looking for someone who’s patient, professional, and truly passionate about dogs, look not further. Mike is a gamechanger!

I cannot say enough good things about Ashley and the incredible transformation she brought about in my dog through the board and train program. She took the time to thoroughly understand my dog’s personality and tailored her approach to fit his unique needs. Throughout the training, Ashley was consistently communicative, providing regular updates and videos, so I could see the progress my dog was making. The results were absolutely astounding. Not only did my dog learn commands and better behavior, but he became more confident, calm, and well-mannered. Ashley’s patience, expertise, and genuine love for what she does were evident in every interaction with my dog. If you’re looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring group of trainers who gets results, I highly recommend!

My pup just turned 1 and I have been going there since she was 10 weeks old. I did the advanced puppy training, the therapy training, and am now working towards the service certification. Matt and Mike both have been so helpful and informative since day one. Whenever I was looking for a trainer, I called 16 different places, and they were the first ones to call me back and sit down n talk to me for a good half an hour. Since our first session, they have been nothing but kind, informative, and professional. I recommend them to any and everyone looking to get any kind of training for their pup. hen I first brought Winston to Control is Key, we were struggling with several behavioral issues — particularly reactivity and sleep-startle aggression. From day one, the team took a holistic and compassionate approach. They even accompanied us to the vet for his initial assessment, helping rule out any underlying medical or neurological concerns. I was especially grateful for their understanding and support as we explored the possibility that Winston was dealing with PTSD from his first year before I rescued him. What stood out most was their dedication to building his confidence and helping me create a structured, sustainable routine. While Winston has always been a smart and friendly dog 99% of the time, it was that remaining 1% — the unpredictable reactivity — that was becoming concerning and potentially dangerous. Since completing the course, the change has been remarkable. Winston is far less jumpy, no longer tries to manipulate for treats, and has not had a single aggressive incident. E-collar training, combined with consistency and positive structure, gave him the clarity he needed. He now knows his evening routine and voluntarily settles into his crate — his safe space — which has completely eliminated sleep-startle episodes. I’m incredibly thankful to Control is Key for helping both Winston and me build the tools we needed. Their approach is firm yet deeply empathetic — and the results speak for themselves.
