Country Roads Canine Training Center

We had such a great experience with Country Roads Canine Training Center! Erika was patient, knowledgeable, and truly caring throughout the entire process. We have a 1 year old Bullmastiff who was uncontrollable on leash. He would try to go after people and other dogs. He knew basic commands, but he is very stubborn. Our dog went through a 2 week training program. Erika sent us pictures and videos everyday of his progress. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and effective dog trainer.

I was very anxious about leaving my dog somewhere for board and train, but all that anxiety melted away as soon as I met Ericka. She and her team of all stars took care of my pit bull and helped her build confidence while maintaining clear and consistent communication including pictures and videos. Their understanding of dog psychology is astounding, and they were able to facilitate Aloka’s transition back home with the whole family in a training session. It was clear how much Aloka loved everyone at the training center, which is a testament to the love they poured into her while she was in their care. We are so grateful for everything you all did to support Aloka and look forward to our future training sessions! Thank you so much!

We cannot say enough amazing things about Ericka and her 3-week board and train program! Our black Lab, Titan, went in with basically no solid training (totally on us), tons of energy, and not the best listening skills—and came back a completely different dog. Before training, we were dealing with a lot—leash pulling, jumping on people, counter surfing, chewing on pillows, dish towels, and shoes, plus digging through the trash. It honestly felt overwhelming at times. After just three weeks with Ericka, those behaviors are either completely gone or so much more under control—it’s seriously unbelievable. Titan is now more focused, calm, and actually listens! It’s like we have a whole new dog, but still with the same loving personality we adore. Ericka was incredible every step of the way—super professional, knowledgeable, and kept us consistently updated with texts, videos, and photos of Titan’s progress, which gave us so much peace of mind. What really stood out is how much she cares, not just about the dogs, but about setting owners up for success too. She made sure we knew exactly how to continue working with Titan at home. It's obvious she truly cares, and the level of dedication is rare to find. If you're looking for a trainer who is professional, effective and genuinely invested in your success —DO IT, and go with Ericka. This was hands down one of the best decisions we’ve made for Titan. Worth every single penny and highly, highly recommend!!!

Another great stay at Country Roads Canine Training Center for Princess! Finding a boarding and training facility where our girl felt comfortable and confident was a big priority for us, and we know she is taken care of when she stays with Ericka. Additionally, Princess attended a 3-week Board & Train program with Country Roads Canine Training Center earlier this year (January 2025). We know with dedication and commitment on our end, we will continue to see the amazing results. Having not seen the facility in person in advance, I was a bit nervous leading up to drop off. Living over four hours away (with relatives in the area) was intimidating if anything were to go wrong. However, from the get go, Princess’s safety and wellbeing were obviously being prioritized by the team. The communication throughout the program was fantastic, and Ericka made sure to answer any questions I had in a very timely fashion. Even at pick up, it was so evident that she was truly comfortable around the trainers, around the facility, and with her newfound doggy best friend, Logan. We can already tell she has made strides, and now, we have the tools to even further boost her confidence and make her feel safe in new environments. I couldn’t be more proud of our sweet rescue gal and am excited on how she continues to enhance her skills and manners around us. For anyone looking for training and/or boarding in the DMV area, we recommend checking out this facility. I was so impressed with their daily communication, daily training and progress videos, dedication to exposure of new environments, and commitment to providing a safe and positive space for our girl to learn and train. It makes us so happy to know our sweet girl is taken care of and spoiled like the princess she is when we are on vacation and away.
