This place is the place you dream of for fury loved one when you have to leave them. Not only does your pup actually get to play outside during the safe play times but Don gives each dog the attention, care, and love they need by spending real quality time with each dog learning their personality. My dog loves it here and on top of having an amazing boarding experience I was also able to get my dog certified as a service animal through Don’s training program. This is the only place I trust to take my golden retriever/ lab mix.

We moved from Texas a year ago and was in search of a place to board our 4 dogs in San Diego. We have 1 old senior chihuahua and the other 3 shepherds are about 8 years. We absolutely feel like we found someone we can trust while away and sometimes states away for holiday travel back home to TX. The feedback and updates Don gives are the best we have ever had from a boarding facility. I cannot recommend their services enough.

This was our second time booking with Crafty Canine and we couldn't have been grateful for finding Don. He is so great with our puppy, and we always come home to a tired (and better behaved) pup. We were nervous our first time booking because we had never 'boarded' a dog before but after the first time booking with Crafty Canine, I never have any hesitation booking a vacation knowing that we have a safe and welcoming place to leave our pup. Don also keeps an open line of communication during our pups stay with photos and videos, which I love! Its so reassuring to see how excited our pup is to be dropped off to Don and we will definitely book again. I highly recommended Crafty Canine to all of my fellow dog parents.

I consider my one year old ridgeback, Tucker, very well trained and obedient. After recently moving to Poway, I wanted to find a new dog boarder for when I have trips and such. I brought Tucker to crafty canine for a meet and greet and could tell right away this was the right place for him. Don (the owner and dog trainer) was so knowledgeable about dog care and training. The way he managed and corrected the dogs showed he really knows his stuff and truly cares for his canine visitors. On top of that, the facilities are a dog’s heaven with tons of room to run, pools to play in, and shaded areas with beds to rest up for the next play session. Importantly, Don keep the facilities very clean; Don stopped our meeting real quick to clean up a pee spot with water and natural enzymes, not harsh chemicals. Tucker will definitely be staying here for my next trip, and he may not even want to come home after!

Don really understood my dog and the behavior(s) he was exhibiting. He was constantly asking the right questions to try and work to the root of the issues, instead of just offering vague advice that I’ve gotten from other trainers. The biggest issue was his anxiety, barking, and lack of social skills. We have found that boundaries at home were / are the main issue, and we made a plan to enforce them at home! This really helped me to feel confident in how I should handle certain situations. The manual they made for customers also gives a really good summary of the methodology they use. Basically no training begins until a relationship is fostered, which I think is really cool. It’s a relationship of trust and communication, not treats and constant praise. I have already noticed a difference in my dog with the changes Don recommended in the behavior assessment. I’m going to follow up on the two free night promo to work on socialization for my pup! 🤩🤩🤩
