Custom-K9 Bay Area Dog Training & Boarding

My dog Avena is a rescue puppy that went through the puppy training course.One of the big issues we were having with her was potty training. We notice right away her behavior, and potty schedule was positive right away. The one and one at our home was beyond helpful. I was able to continue the training at home and address the concerns we have. Avena loves everyone at Custom-K9. I know she’s in great hands. That helps immensely to know she not only she’s learning but she is well cared for Avena loves to go to training. She is always excited to go and never resists. I highly recommend Custom K-9!

We were referred to Custom K9 from a coworker who sent her pitbull puppy here. We have been doing the day training program for our two mini Australian shepherds, Rumble (5 months) and Forrest (4yo), for about 2.5 months now. Our boys LOVE going to school and go bananas for Jeff/Becky/Lexie! Rumble is working on all of his basic commands (sit, heel, down, place, crate, walking on leash) and Forrest has been working on leash pulling and reactivity when seeing other people/dogs. We’ve seen so much progress in both the boys. Jeff and Becky have been wonderful to work with. They are super communicative and accommodating especially when scheduling our home sessions. Jeff is knowledgeable and responsive to all of our questions and gives us feedback so that we can practice training with the boys. We also appreciate all the photos and texts they send us of how the boys are doing at school. We know they’re in great hands when we drop them off!

We've been bringing our mini Aussies (3mo and 4yr) to Custom K9 for a few months now and couldn't be happier. Jeff and the entire staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Both dogs have made great progress on their training schedules and genuinely love going. The drop-off process is quick and simple, and it's easy to text with questions between visits. The in-home session was a great touch. Our dogs always come home happy, stimulated, and well behaved. The one thing to be aware of is the driveway can get muddy in wet weather, but they're actively improving their space so that should be resolved someday soon. Overall, highly recommend Custom K9 for training and day care!

We’ve been working with Jeff and Beckie for years, both in South SF and now at their new Pacifica location. My favorite part about CK9 is that it’s structured boarding and daycare, but in a home setting and not a big facility. Dogs aren’t playing all day and rehearsing bad behaviors. Everyone gets turns at playing and also gets rest and decompression time. Beckie is communicative, professional, and treats the dogs like family. Jeff’s approach to training is truly balanced—positive rewards, but also not being afraid to tell dogs “no”. His personal dogs Rumi and Sesh are both proof of how skilled of a trainer he is. I trust both completely with my dog and love that daycare and boarding are both structured and safe.

I cannot say enough about Jeff, Beckie and the Custom-K9 team! Originally, I had contacted Jeff about behavioral training for my Great Pyrenees Lab mix who was instinctually responding when he saw crows and coyotes. My dog actually took off after a crow in front of my house and ended up breaking my finger (as I dropped the leash, it got caught around my hand and literally broke my finger in half!). Second incident had my dog pulling me across the grass on my stomach as he took off after a crow. SO, he needed behavioral training. After much research, I contacted Custom-K9 and met Jeff. My dog underwent individualized board and train for 3 weeks. Coming out of that training was the ability for me to manage my dog not to be triggered by crows. We followed up that training with weekly social training and various day drop offs. And voila! I also use the Board & Train option quite a bit when I travel for work. It's a weight off my mind to know that my dog is not only being well cared for, but reinforcing the training and social skills. Jeff and his team are the real deal!
