Good morning,
we have a 1 1/2 year old golden doodle who is the sweetest dog. She has BAD separation anxiety when it comes to her dad. Recently in the mornings she goes out to go potty and refuses to come back in. Need to know how to help her.
Hi Robyn,
Thank you for contacting me. I hear this complaint quite frequently. There are two things that will help you.
1. Put her outside with a leash. Let her drag it around. Use a 6' leash or longer. When you need her to come in, just pick up the end of the leash and bring her inside.
2. Once she is inside, either play with her with a favorite toy OR feed her 10 pieces of chicken, cheese, toast, roast beef, hot dogs. NO dog treats.
Your goal is two-fold. One is management using the leash, secondly is to make it worth her while to come inside. She is doing a cost-benefit analysis and it's not worth it for her to come inside.

We were impressed with the way that Amy instructed us how to work with Oliver using fun games, and training tips with the goal of having Oliver be focused and obedient. He loved the fun classes, and learned a lot, and so did Dave and I!!

Earlier this year we had booked a consultation appointment to address reactivity we had noticed in our puppy Lucy. We went into it unsure and a little skeptical, but after the consultation, we were blown away by the professionalism and information we had received. Each training lesson built upon the last and it was evident that Lucy was starting to become more confident in walking past other dogs, as were we. While she still is a work in progress, I no longer feel the initial panic or embarrassment I had when taking her out on a walk; and it is so cool to see how far she’s come! We encourage anyone with any training needs for their dog to book with Everything Dog.

My pup and I just completed Puppy K with Amy. She was helpful, funny, and taught “games” that are an excellent foundation for more learning. My pup and I learned so much (and so much about each other!). Highly recommend Everything Dog!

I can’t imagine that any dog trainer thinks she is worth $250. per session. That’s an outrageous amount for a person to be charging anyone in how to manage a dog. Come on people! Use your heads!
