Digman Canine Academy

Could not have trained my dog without Digman Canine Academy or their trainer, Kelsey. I rescued my dog when she was 7 months old so she had some anxiety and a lack of confidence. Kelsey was so patient with her (and me) during our weeks of training and was always willing to answer any questions or concerns I had, even after our sessions ended. She relieved much of my stress and gave me the skills to continue training my pup. Not to mention, she’s an overall awesome and funny person which made our sessions that much more enjoyable. Cannot recommend Digman enough!!!

We defiantly recommend Claire and her team for dog training! We have a 3 year old deaf boxer that has a bite record. We struggled trying to find a trainer that would help us help Barrett. After being turned down once for his deafness and once for his aggression, we found Digman Canine Academy. Claire wasn’t afraid of his “issues” and she agreed to take on our case. Barrett is still our fun goofy boy...but he is also completely different—it’s like he grew up! He is calmer and dare I say “respectful”. She opened up a line of communication between us with hand singles and stimulation that honestly allows me worry less. He walks like a dream and now and I feel confident walking him around the neighborhood, rather than embarrassed that I had no control over my dog. Place is Barrett’s safe zone. Our 1 year is being taught not to touch puppy when he is on place...Barrett can sleep and not get startled this way. I’ve used place with Barrett at my parents house and my grandparents house successfully. My grandparents have a dog and the dog didn’t even phase Barrett, he stayed calm and on place as I instructed him. We also use place when guests come over. This stopped the out of control jumping at the door in excitement and the annoying struggle of an over-bearing 65lb dog trying to play with the toddler and the grandparent on our floor! Our son is copying everything we do right now...so he has picked up on the hand signals and has successfully put Barrett on place himself (under close supervision I assure you) ...but think about this...my previously crazy out-of-control boxer puppy is allowing my toddler to walk him over to his bed and he “listens” to him when he signals to him to stay—I wouldn’t have ever believed that would be possible before Claire. The obedience that Barrett has been taught by Claire has changed our lives. Now we can enjoy things together with Barrett included...our family is whole again! We cannot thank Claire and Digman Canine Academy enough!

Digman Canine Academy has been a life changer for us. Our dog Scout came from the shelter with lots of anxiety issues that manifested in destructive and sometimes aggressive behaviors. Over the first 2+ years we had him we tried a different trainer, anti-anxiety medication, hormone collars, you name it. It got to the point where our veterinarian used the phrase "behavioral euthanasia" which we couldn't even conceive of. At the recommendation of a friend, we called Claire and she and her team changed everything. What I love most is that instead of just trying to correct behaviors, DCA helped Scout to feel much more relaxed in his world and in his own skin, really treating the problems, not just the symptoms. The other important feature is that the humans got training too. Claire and Kelsey made sure that our family knew what we needed to do in order to continue Scout's training and progress. It's an ongoing process, and DCA has been great about answering questions as we go and providing continued training opportunities like pack walks and board and train refreshers. It's telling how happy Scout is when he sees Claire and Kelsey. He loves them. Scout is a different, much happier dog, and at the end of the day, that's what we wanted for him when we adopted him. I highly recommend Digman Canine Academy!!

Claire and Kelsey are doggy gurus! We had an anxious pup that was a threat to all living things that weren’t us. Through our sessions with Digman Canine Academy, Callie has improved immensely. We have established a much better and healthier relationship with our dog and no longer dread situations that would launch her into a reactive mess. Gone are the days of walks being a massive headache! She has a pack now!!! I would scream “Digman Canine Academy, DO IT!” from the rooftops, but I’m afraid of heights, so, seriously, do it!

We were extremely happy with the service that Claire and her team provided to our new puppy. Claire is extremely knowledgeable about dog training and the psychology behind training. She explained why we were doing certain things and avoiding other behaviors; this helped a lot as it gave insight into how a dog processes cues. She and Kelsey were always friendly, available by phone if needed, and arrived in a timely manner. My pup has gone from an overactive puppy who tests everyone's boundaries to a happy pup who knows his limits. I would definitely recommend Digman if you are looking for a trainer!
