Dog Psychology and Training Center

We sent our puppy and my in-laws for training. The person they put us with was not a good trainer at all. Canceled appointments and both dogs came back the same as they went. The owners tried to patch it together afterward but that wasn’t what either of us paid for. I’ve had my other dogs trained using this method and was extremely happy but this experience was not satisfactory at all. We are 1 year in and am having to start over with a new trainer. I think if the owners are doing the training you would be ok but the other person was a joke.

Our dog Tilly was effectively trained. After some practice following the go home orientation, we were able to effectively use the e-collar and leash in addition to voice commands. Once we practiced, we could really appreciate the results of the training. After the follow up orientation, we were able to build on our experience in the first week post training. We were able to easily establish the livability commands at our home. Our puppy is still energetic, happy, fun curious and excited! But now she behaves with her sister, in the house, on walks, everywhere. And she listens now!!!!! This training has made raising an energetic puppy 'easy' compared to the first 19 weeks!!!

I've had Zeus home for 2 weeks now and I intentionally waited this long to post a review because I wanted to make sure I wasn't writing an "emotional" review based on my sheer joy at having him back home. I can honestly say we are THRILLED AND AMAZED at the wonders Krystal and Eric have accomplished with our 4 month old puppy (3 months when he began his training). I think the following encounter I recently had can sum it all up: I was at the vet's office with Zeus -- this environment is bursting with distractions for a young pup. Zeus are I were minding our own business....me playing on my phone and Zeus politely lying next to my feet despite numerous cats and dogs traipsing in and out. A rather large man entered the office -- notice I didn't say "walked" into the office. Instead, he was being pulled one way and then another by his moderate sized dog. Nothing he tried was working. He wrestled. He wrangled. Finally he picked the dog up struggling to get up to the registration desk. Eventually he sat down and looked over at Zeus and asked me "how old is your dog?" I politely smiled and said "4 months." The expression on his face was priceless when he exclaimed "your puppy is better behaved than my dog who's over a year old!!! I wish mine could do that." I simply stared at him and said "Your dog can. Zeus just returned from obedience training and this is the result," gesturing to Zeus and his impeccable manners. The man (at bit slow on the uptake) replied....what can he do? Me: Do? Man: Yeah, you know. What tricks can he do? Me: Well, let me think... He will not get on the staircase while a human is on it and waits until he's invited upstairs before putting the first paw on the bottom step. He sits and waits patiently while I fill his food and water dish. He comes to me and politely sits at my feet when I ask him to. He can hold his "place" on virtually any object, including a tree stump, and doesn't move until I give him permission. He walks beside me without pulling on his leash, sitting at my feet when I stop. He allows me to go through the door and any other tight space before he does. He doesn't jump on the couch or bed unless I invite him to. He sits and lies down when asked. When I tell him to go to his crate, he willing trots in without a whimper. Tricks? I guess he doesn't know any TRICKS, but he's a welcome member of our family. Man: (reality finally settling in) Could I have your trainer's name and number? Me: Sure! Here's one of their cards. Second man: (who's been taking in this entire exchange while holding his new puppy). Hey lady! Can I have one of those cards too? Your dog can and WILL be a joy to have around if you decide to allow the folks at Dog Psychology & Training Center work with you both.
