Dog Sports At Kim's

Dog Sports at Kim’s is a phenomenal place to go to train your dogs! I love my trainer Patty! She’s great with dogs of all kinds! She’s very patient and gentle with shy ones and great at teaching handlers to be the best they can be for their dog! I highly recommend Patty and Dog Sports at Kim’s to anyone who’s interested in obedience, agility, scent work, or dock diving! She and many other members make such a great dog sport community and I’m proud to call them my friends!

When looking for a dog trainer, my friend suggested that I check out Dog Sports at Kim's (DSK). Turns out, it was just the place we needed! The trainers vary in their approach to training, which is a blessing in disguise because you get the knowledge of several experienced people who have handled several types of dogs over their careers. The trainers don't like to see people struggling trying to get your dog to do something, so they will gladly help you even if you don't have them for class. We started in Rally, and I quickly became "hooked" on all the other sports we could compete in. It was only after I started training there, that I realized just how talented these trainers are. All the trainers have competed in the sports and have earned numerous awards. Positive training is emphasized at DSK. However, like children, all dogs need to learn the meaning of "no" and "leave it" for their safety. Kim provides the DSK facility with cleaning supplies both interior and exterior for responsible owners to clean up after their dog. Yes, dogs have accidents or marking behaviors while inside the building, but none of the trainers make a big deal about it. If you are new to the building, they gladly get what you need for you to clean up. Dogs, must learn to do their business outside, and it is the owner that must frequently take their dogs outside. Dogs relieve themselves indoors for a variety of reasons (medical issues, inadequate house training, stress, anxiety, or fear). With my dog, I didn't always understand why things were taught in a certain manner. To better educate myself, I started asking questions. The trainers were happy to explain why they approached the class in this manner. Those explanations made so much more sense when I got my second sport dog. He started classes there at 6 months old. Both of my dogs love DSK!!! I will happily continue to train at DSK!!!

Dog Sports at Kim’s is not just a top tier dog training facility, it is also an amazing community of dog trainers, competitors, and friends! I brought my first rescue dog to DSK back in 2019 to learn how to train basic manners and I ended up with so much more! The amazingly talented trainers at DSK have helped me achieve multiple championships with multiple dogs in multiple sports! DSK is a welcoming community to beginners and experienced dog people alike. I highly recommend DSK if you are seeking basic obedience skills with your dog, or are a seasoned competitor looking to fine-tune your skills!
