During class we will work on obedience commands such as walking on a loose leash, sit, down, stay and coming when called. We will also address other behavioral problems such as jumping up and bolting through doors.
The intermediate obedience class is designed to help you continue building the skills necessary to create a well-behaved dog in public. In this class, we’ll create scenarios that mimic real world conditions to prepare your dog for situations that are often found in public settings.
During our puppy obedience training, we will discuss common problems new puppy owners experience, including housebreaking, crate training, jumping up on people, digging, chewing, playful biting, and more. You will walk away with effective solutions to help break your puppy of these behaviors.

We have a 6 mo. old English Cocker Spaniel. His name is Cooper. He likes to jump up on people to see them & to be petted. What is the best way to stop him from doing this?
I had to teach mine to sit before i tought him to not jump up. Once your dog sits. Then use whatever motivates it. Example (treats, pats, ect...) Get a clicker. When it responds to a clicker give it a treat. Eventually as you give a command followed by a click and get a response instantly then try using just your voice. But definatly use whatever motivates him. For jumping i tried ( off ) and it worked great! As (down) worked for say a couch and (stay) for well..... Someone at the door ect.... Hope this helps.

I walk into him so that he falls backwards. And then I say oops. But if I were you, I would call dog trainers Workshop. They have awesome instructors. And there will be lots of things along the way that you're going to want to teach your new puppy. Enjoy.

we have a golden retriver that is about 8 months old----she is very fond of bitting our feet and likes to aggravate another dog we own. She does pee in the house and we have spanked her for that, but she will do it again . can you help us?
Definitely give them a call. Spanking just does not work for house breaking and can damage your relationship with your dog. DTW can help you with this and the biting issue, giving you much better "tools" to work on your dog's issues. Don't wait!

We live in Union and it would be to far for a "daily" commute. We could handle a couple of times a week. Is boarding there and training a viable choice or even available?
Boarding and training are both available. Any given training class (different levels and types available) meets once per week. Lots of evening classes makes it easy on your work schedule.

Dog trainer's workshop has enough credit and accounts that show the power they have and it only will working if you continue to practice what they teach you, if you let go of it, then your dog will go back to its old habits and i remember being told that only 4 dogs have gone back to their old ways

We've been bringing our pups here for a few years now. Feel totally safe when dropping them off for their vacation away from home.
I have used Dog Trainers Workshop for many years. They have helped with training all of my dogs and I use them for boarding. They love dogs and my dog loves them.

DON’T USE THIS PLACE FOR BOARDING, YOUR DOG WONT COME BACK HOME THE SAME!!!!!!! I chose this place because someone Recommended it to me a few months ago. I am so disappointed with this boarding place. My dog is male and 12 years old. I feel like they may have done something to my dog but I just don’t know what or they aren’t telling me something. My dog is so calm, happy, and the sweetest thing, he won’t hurt a fly (literally). They said he attacked the fence and got his lower jaw stuck and it happened multiple times after that. This is where they should’ve called me. They said verbatim “ we won’t call you unless he got hurt”, which I don’t agree with. My dog has never showed any aggression towards anything. I genuinely believe he was trying to escape. This just doesn't sound like him. Now that we are home, he is calm but isn’t acting like himself, he doesn’t get excited anymore when I say his favorite words and he isn’t wanting pets anymore. !!!!THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO!!!!!

We are disappointed, received a message stating that I will be charged for the day of pick up unless you pick up before 11am. Pick up time does not apply on Sundays or during holiday hours. I am well aware that pick is on Sundays from 5pm to 6pm. I called Friday informing the person at the desk if possible could please come and pick up my fur babies. I was rudely told no. I understand that drop off was from Friday thru Sunday. I am not understanding why we had to pay for Sunday when they did not stay Sunday night. However upon reading some of the reviews the owner stated that we are charged for every night that they are boarded. I feel we were over charged because we picked them up on Sunday evening because you guys don't open until 5 pm on Sundays you still charged me even though the dogs did not stay Sunday night. I feel that your pick up time on Sundays should be reconsidered for a earlier pick up time.
