From the moment we started, he was incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that was clear and easy to follow. He didn’t just work with my dog during the session—he gave me practical, useful tools that I could confidently apply at home. My dog, Clio, took to him immediately, which says a lot about his calm and approachable demeanor. Before working with Robert, walking Clio on a leash was a complete nightmare. I was honestly shocked that after just one hour, she was like a completely different dog—calmer, more focused, and so much easier to handle. He also helped us make great progress with essential commands like drop, come, and stay. What really stood out was how effective and efficient his methods were without ever feeling overwhelming. When I started looking for a dog trainer in Brooklyn, it’s no exaggeration to say that EVERYONE I asked referred me to Robert (aka Dogboy). He truly is the person to train your dog, and I’m now one of the lucky clients enthusiastically wagging my tail as I refer him to ze internets! We had just moved from California to Brooklyn, and our two-year-old pup was having a hard time adjusting to snow, walks, the noise of the city, and apartment life. Perhaps it was the city streets, but on walks it suddenly felt like our sweet dog had turned into a full-blown bronco overnight. We worked with Robert for a few sessions, and after just one session things were already VASTLY improved. Safe to say, our California pup is now a snow pup! (And the bronco days are behind us.) Robert’s combination of authority, kindness, and deep knowledge about dogs comes through in every interaction. His communication style translates beautifully to both dogs and humans and gives you the tools to truly make a difference. Our little good boy Dinho has been working with Jenny for 3 sessions now, and I highly recommend Dogboy and Jenny for all your training needs. Dinho absolutely loves Jenny (maybe even more than his parents! hehe). Jenny is patient, very knowledgeable, a master of her craft, and undoubtedly a dog lover! Even after our first session together, we already saw major improvement in Dinho's obedience and behavior. Jenny is not just there to train your dog, but to train YOU on how to better understand your dog's body language. You will leave each session with a trove of technique to implement on your day-to-day to create a very strong bond with your pup. For our curious border collie x hound mix navigating a chaotic NYC environment, we have worked on leash walking, recall, and leave it/drop it to name a few skills. We have one more session to go with Jenny, but we already feel we have gotten our money's worth!

Working with Robert has been such a meaningful experience for us and our rescue pup, Martini. Through training, we’ve not only seen Martini grow, but we’ve also learned how to better understand him and see situations from his perspective—which has been incredibly valuable. Martini is a fast learner and always eager to learn, but we never imagined he’d master commands like “stay” and “watch me” in such a short amount of time. We’re continuing to work on his aggression, and one thing we truly appreciate is that whenever an issue comes up with Tini, Robert always offers a clear, thoughtful solution. That level of guidance and support has made a huge difference for us as owners. We’re so proud of how far Tini has come, and while we’re heartbroken to be leaving New York, we’re grateful that we’ll be able to continue training thanks to everything Robert has taught us.
