Doggie Du Good

My husband and I were referred to Doggie du Good by our vet. We had the opportunity to work with Karen Smalley, who turned our poorly mannered, high-energy mini goldendoodle into a very well-behaved, high-energy mini goldendoodle. Over a week of board training with Karen, Lucy (our dog) came home a completely improved dog with etiquette that continually pays dividends by allowing us to have a dog that can and will behave appropriately in multiple settings. Karen was wonderful in showing and explaining to both my husband and me ways to continually reinforce positive behaviors to ensure Lucy’s manners became routine in her everyday demeanor. I brought home my sweet Boykin Spaniel puppy at 6 weeks old, our family had not had a dog around for 10 years so we were very excited about our new addition. Boy, has she ever changed our life!! I forgot what it was like to have a new puppy and I quickly knew that I needed to seek some professional help to tame my "wild thing" Abbey. Karen was recommended by some friends so I promptly called her and she came to our rescue. It was the best decision we made since bringing Abbey home! Karen came to our home to do some in home training and we most recently left her in her capable hands while we were on Spring Break. Karen has shown us how to train Abbey while leaving her spunk and energetic personality intact. She is professional, knowledgeable and tailors her training to YOUR dogs personality and the families desires. I know that Abbey has not been the easiest puppy to train, she has tons of energy and is impulsive. Karen's training has tamed our dog without breaking her spirit and we are eternally grateful. While still ongoing, I know we made the right choice in trainers, we highly recommend her.

Doggie du Good ~ Does Great! Karen has helped our dog Charlie with his insecurities. Charlie says, "I was a very nervous dog and didn't have any courage around new people or experiences. But with Karen's help I have blossomed! I even like my walks now and hardly ever put up a fuss when we meet someone, even big dogs that look a little scary." With Karen's help you will learn how to get your dog to do what YOU want them to. Her lessons are easy to understand and if you have questions, she will work with you until you understand the process. Charlie has also boarded with Karen. He always comes home happy, it is good to know that he gets lots of love and care while staying there. One only has to see Karen working with her dog and those that she trains to see how much she loves dogs and cares about their behaviors.
