I cannot express enough, how grateful I am for the incredible work done by Jeremy and Danielle, the owners of Dopamine K-9 Training. As soon as we'd wrapped our first training session for our dog with Jeremy, we knew we wanted to do a board-and-train. We sent Luka, our ~3 y/o fearful rescue, to work with Dopamine K9 for just over three weeks, and it has been one of the best investments we've made. Our biggest challenges pre-training had been leash aggression (in our neighborhood), fence-line aggression with our neighbor's dog, and uncontrolled barking at guests. During his board and train, the K9 team gained his trust (and enormous feat in itself), got him fluent in the e-collar, and worked with him on reactivity, self-regulation (place, heel), recall, prey drive, and exposure to stressors (which are really just normal, everyday things for most). Luka came back to us as a much more relaxed, responsive, and confident dog. At our reintroduction session, Jeremy worked with us to establish and uphold the systems and structures that had been so effective during his board-and-train. Since then, he's b been available for quick consults over the phone, too. The systems we've implemented (namely a cot, lots of heel work), plus the e-collar, have made it feel like we're all speaking the same language. Luka still tenses up when we pass "trigger dogs" in our neighborhood, but having the e-collar has made daily walks much safer for all parties involved. Overall, he's quieted down a ton, and seems way happier than before. We'll likely book another session with Jeremy in the coming weeks as a "tune up," and would absolutely want to board him there for more training in the future.

We are thrilled to have chosen Dopamine K9 to board and train our 7 month old, high energy field lab, Vincent. After interviewing several trainers, it was clear that Danielle and Jeremy understood what Vincent needed in order to be a well-mannered, responsive pup. Vincent stayed with Danielle & Jeremy for 3 weeks, and then Jeremy met with me for a three hour training in order to help me learn the communication system they used with Vincent so that I could maintain his new skills. Vincent returned to our home very happy, healthy and much more compliant than when he left, and it was obviously how well he had been cared for. Since his training, walks are wonderful without the constant pulling, he is able to spend extended time in a calm, relaxed state in a variety of settings, and he has made so much progress not jumping up on people. He now retrieves like a champ, rather than just playing keep-away with the ball, which makes it so much easier to exercise him. I love Dopamine K9s use of positive, reinforcing training techniques, and it’s clear that Vincent had lots of fun while learning how to behave. Although I had done a bunch of training prior to calling Dopamine K9, the three weeks of consistent instruction did more than I could have done in six months. I highly recommend this company and cannot say enough about how grateful I am for their services.

I don't know where to start except that I wish I had done this sooner. We got Lou from NW Dog Project at the end of December and as he started to get more comfortable with us, some behaviors/habits popped up that I was struggling with. He was terrible on a leash, both with reactivity and pulling, and started to react to strangers when he was off leash at parks. I called Jeremy to express interest in the train & board program on a Thursday and he started the following Monday! Lou spent four weeks in the care of Dopamine K9 and I am forever grateful for their help. He is the same happy, goofy dog but now has confidence, manners and we share a communication system that allows him more freedom and adventure. I'm less anxious and frustrated, he's happier and freer. Life is good. Like I said earlier, the only regret I have was not doing this sooner. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
