Elite Canine in Winston-Salem is absolutely fantastic! Geralyn is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about helping both dogs and their owners succeed. Her group classes are great — she makes sure every dog gets attention and guidance. I love that she not only works with the dogs, but also teaches owners how to continue the training at home. Long story short, we cannot recommend Elite and Geralyn enough. Here are some of the reasons why: Elite Canine was recommended to us by the breeder of our two miniature schnauzers. The breeder is also a trainer, and Geralyn at Elite is the ONLY trainer she recommends. Our experience has been 100 stars. We started with both pups completing the Puppy Starts class, which is highly recommended for first-time and experienced dog parents. Our pups have very different personalities, and the whole experience has helped them both become well-socialized with both humans and dogs. We have joined almost all Yappy hours hosted by Elite: this supervised socialization is a blast for the pups, and their confidence has grown so much! I must say, Yappy Hour has also been a very positive experience for us humans: a community was formed around the well-being of the dogs, and that's amazing! We have also completed the next step in the Elite curriculum, which is Take the Lead. Geralyn has taken us to public places so we can practice reducing anxiety and increasing focus. The dramatic improvement my pups showed upon course conclusion speaks for itself. We are continuing our training and will keep doing so. Personally, I have also attended workshops hosted by Elite, specifically the First Aid for dogs. You don’t expect to have to use any of the learnings, but the knowledge makes you a better owner...and guess what? I helped one of my pups that accidentally choked on a small treat, thanks to the knowledge I gained from Geralyn. Look no further. You have found your dog training place and your new dog well-being community.

We started classes with Geralyn when we got our puppy, and it’s one of the best decisions we’ve made! Geralyn’s passion for dogs and her support for families is clear. She’s taught us so much and is always willing to answer any questions about our pup’s well-being. Through class, we joined a community of dog-lovers, and our social pup made friends who all understand the same force-free training. We frequently meet other dogs from Elite Canine classes in our neighborhood and local parks, and I always recommend Geralyn to new people. We’ve enjoyed group, semi-private, and private sessions—and our dog loves being off-leash at Yappy Hour!

Over the past few months my newly adopted chihuahua mix, Betsy, has graduated from Elite Canine’s “Puppy Stars” and “Take The Lead” series of classes. Geralyn has been great with helping me and Betsy learn the ropes. She recommended up front that Betsy start with the Puppy class because of her small size and her shyness. That was definitely the right call! Geralyn has been top notch, enthusiastic, patient and caring. Would highly recommend her classes. She also offers to her clients Saturday morning Yappy Hour at Tuckers Tap yard which has tremendously helped Betsy come out of her shell.
