I would not recommend this trainer for anxious and/or reactive dogs. I attended some classes with my reactive dog and my concerns about her barking and pulling toward other dogs were dismissed as “well dogs will bark”. It’s difficult to have confidence in a trainer who claims herself to have a reactive dog but doesn’t accept reactive dogs in her group classes.

If you're searching for an excellent trainer (for both ends of the leash), then Elite Canine is the right fit for you and your pup. We love her positive reinforcement approach to training and appreciate that we're learning the right skills so our Australian Shepherd lives his best life. By the way, our boy adores the trainer, Geralyn. We've now attended three different training classes/levels because it has been so helpful for us and our pup.
Geralyn has helped us masterfully with our rescue Jasper. She’s encouraging, patient and loves loves loves all the dogs she works with. We are so glad we found Elite Canine- and trust every bit of advice we get from Geralyn.

Geralyn is absolutely amazing and worked wonders with my dog. I listened and used the techniques that she taught me, and have had great results with a dog that I thought was untrainable. She has always been on time, never once cancelled, and was actually very flexible when I needed to reschedule. I worked in the pet industry for over 15 years locally myself and had lots of suggestions from customers and co-workers. Geralyn was at the top of their list, and was the first call I made. After hanging up with her, I knew that she was the right choice. You can tell that she has years of experience under her belt. One day I was at the park (a few towns over) practicing the leash training that Geralyn taught me. A complete stranger saw me struggling with my stubborn dog and we started talking after I explained that I was leash training her. The woman immediately started talking about a miracle dog trainer in Winston Salem that her daughter had used and had fantastic results years prior. She couldn't remember her name, but was able to describe her. I asked if her name was Geralyn Kelly. She lit up and said "Yes, that is her, do you know her?" I explained that I had just started her classes a day before and we were out practicing what she had taught me. The lady assured that I was in the best hands possible and that she had worked miracles for her daughter's dogs as well. I knew then that we had made the right choice, and I definitely know now because I see the results everyday. Geralyn is great with dogs and has a natural talent connecting with them; my dog absolutely loves her!! The key is that you have to understand and commit to using the guidance and techniques that Geralyn teaches YOU, the dog owner.
