I didn’t rush to write this because I don’t enjoy tearing down small or family owned businesses. I understand being busy. I understand being overwhelmed. What I don’t understand or excuse is being completely abandoned after someone earns your trust.My dog Tobi has behavioral issues, and I originally reached out to Tara at Elite Florida Canine College because she advertised board-and-train services. Before committing to that, I made it clear that I wanted to start with in person training, which she told me was perfectly fine. She explained that even when dogs are boarded at her facility, they are consistently worked with which gave me confidence in her overall approach and professionalism because of that, I paid for weekly in person sessions, where she was supposed to come once a week and work with my dog Tobi and my dad’s dog, Jax. I was five months pregnant at the time and very upfront about my concerns and my need for consistency. She assured me she could help.Then, right before our first package was completed, she completely ghosted me.Calls were ignored. Messages were dodged. When I did get a response, it was short, dismissive, and made it clear I was no longer a priority. This wasn’t a misunderstanding or a scheduling hiccup it was a total breakdown of communication after payment had already been made.What makes this worse is that I didn’t just walk away. I kept reaching out because I was pregnant, stressed, and genuinely worried about my dog. Instead of professionalism or accountability, I was left high and dry with no explanation and no follow-through.If you offer services that involve people trusting you with their dogs and you accept payment disappearing is not “being busy.” It’s irresponsible. In this industry, reliability and communication aren’t optional; they’re the bare minimum.I’m sharing this because people deserve to know what they’re walking into before handing over their money, their dog, and their trust. In my experience, Elite Florida Canine College was not elite just deeply disappointing.

We have had an incredible experience with Elite Florida Canine College! Our puppy completed their two-week board and train program, and the progress has absolutely blown us away. We also added a few in-home sessions, and the consistency and improvement have been amazing. Tara is truly phenomenal at what she does, she not only cares deeply for the dogs, but she’s equally skilled at teaching us humans how to follow through. Her knowledge, patience, and passion show in every session. We couldn’t recommend Elite Florida Canine College enough. We’re so grateful for the results we’ve seen and are excited to continue building on this training!
