Eric Letendre's Dog Training School

We have had excellent success at the puppy program here. Our Goldendoodle started off very timid and did not have any listening skills. The staff here taught us the foundational skills that has made the world of a difference. They went above and beyond to ensure our puppy was successful. We completed the program with a puppy that listens, is calm, and is a socialized! Thank you Eric Letendre’s Dog Training School!

I cannot say enough positive things about Eric and his dog training school. I started coming here when our rescue dog Oak became leash reactive and impossible to control. Just going for walks became anxiety filled episodes. Realizing we needed help I made an appointment after getting several recommendations. Simply put coming here has been one of the BEST decisions we have made. I have found Eric to be knowledgeable, kind and patient. He really has a way with dogs and understands what their owners are going through. Going to school here has given me all of the tools and support I need to help train my dog and be a better dog owner- most importantly how to communicate with Oak. I was initially nervous going to group class but ended up having a lot of fun ( thanks Rui!),and along with putting in the work at home we have seen an incredible transformation in our dog! The results have been so amazing ( we now get so many compliments on how well behaved our boy is) that we have now continued in our training to Eric's advanced off leash class. We look forward to our future learning and improvement! Thank you Eric!!

Same experience as a few of the other review left for this business. I would not recommend Eric's training school to anyone. It was a waste of $400. Everyone seems to have the same experience from the beginning to end of the process. The initial meet and greet is where Eric tells you you will work on all the problems you present to him that your dog has. The 2nd meeting felt just like a business transaction. Once he swipes your card and has your money that's when he's willing to talk. Then you get to attend 4 different courses each week that is a different topic with a different person. THE CLASSES LAST FOR 30 MINUTUES. After the first class I was dumbfounded and thought to myself this can't be true, that class was really only 30 minutes? The class consists of a man lecturing to you with 2-3 minutes of actual working with your dog. I understand that they give you the tools to go home and do the work with your dog BUT if I wanted to be lectured and sit down for 30 minutes while listening to a man speak I WOULD OF JUST YOUTUBED A VIDEO. I have been to other trainers (Lynn in Rehoboth 10/10 would recommend) who actually take the time to teach you about your dogs behaviors and who does interactive classes where she is engaged with you and helps you develop a relationship and understand your dog and breed. I am shocked at Eric's training school I really am. The boasting of the top rated dog trainer posted all around the training room is a bit odd. 4 total classes for 30 mins a week for $400 and that's the end of the program, is that a joke??? It is super off putting that the owner of this business replies back to every negative review as well. We get it you have a book and you send people home with videos to watch, congratulations. Maybe instead of bragging about your multiple 5 star reviews you should put more of an effort into your training programs. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Went to Eric with a dog aggressive dog. The consultation was helpful, we mostly just talked in his office the whole time, he explained his method, and then had me practice with my dog (and his dog in the room) for maybe five mins. After this he told me I was ready to be in group classes. Mind you, my dog used to lose her mind the second she saw another dog, and we had practiced for five mins and he says we are ready? He is the professional so I trusted him. We came next week for a group class. Eric was not teaching the class and the teacher had no idea about my dogs issues. The other handlers in the class were totally clueless. They let their dogs approach my dog, they blocked us in corners and up against the wall. My dog and I both had warned the other handlers that she is not dog friendly. This didn’t stop them from not getting in our space. The instructor of the class did absolutely nothing to help me during this time, and we had to deal with this the whole class. Luckily I was so aware and my dog was so responsive that we avoided a dog fight, but if I was as careless as the instructor or the other handlers in that class, I have no doubt in my mind that my dog would have gone after one of the other dogs, and I wouldn’t have blamed her either. This school is a VERY dangerous place for any dogs who have any sort of dog aggression or fear. I HIGHLY recommend finding another trainer if this is your case. $400 and only went to one class, I do not plan on ever going back. EDIT: Wow is all I can say. Since posting this review, Eric has decided to blast this over social media, using my full name. He sent an email to his whole email chain and has made multiple of his own Facebook posts about how he feels about me. The facts he offers are simply not true. There were at least seven dogs in my class (that I can remember) with handlers whom all let their dog approach my leash aggressive dog after being told no, and I received literally no help from the trainer. These are the facts, do with them as you may. It should also be noted that I have had multiple people contact me privately (they knew how to find me since he blasted my whole name everywhere) saying that they had unfortunately shared a very similar experience as I did. I think this speaks so loudly about how Eric unprofessionally handles his business, and if this is how he decides to handle his small business, then I hope others see it too and take note.
