About Family Dog Obedience
Our trainer, Val Klein, has been endorsed from the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors and is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test. Dog obedience classes are held at: 1698 North Main Street Ext, Butler, PA 16001. The 8,000 sq. ft. facility features dog-activity-friendly flooring and a wide selection of state-of-the-art dog training equipment. Our growth and success are based on referrals from past/present students, friends and family members of those students, and many local veterinarians’ offices, all of which we are extremely grateful for! Attending classes, and learning about dogs and dog behavior make our students “part of the family.”

My dog and I have been part of the FDO 'family' for over 2 years now and have found this training center both an excellent facility in which to enrich the bond between dog and handler but also a place to develop skills in obedience, agility, and pet therapy training. I have met many great people at FDO who all care deeply about their four footed family members. Val, the owner and master trainer, is to be congratulated for her devotion to the facility!
I contacted Val when a brought a new puppy into my mix and had a few problems. She arranged a home visit and helped me identify problem areas to work on. Very happy with her suggestions! Needless to say, all of my dogs have attended one or more of her classes. So lucky to have a knowledgeable trainer with a variety of classes and indoor training place so close to home! Thank you Val!
FDO has been a great place to train . We started with puppy class and have now been doing agility for over two years. All the staff have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!
FDO is a wonderful place! It’s been tremendously helpful in raising our pups to be extremely well behaved dogs, as well as earn agility titles are more!
