FirstBarkKelly and her crew are the best. It's meaningful classwork, great resources for homework, and practical as well as positive feedback/tips. If you want a great relationship with your dog, this is the training facility. What i love more about Family Dog is that it's not about compliance, it's learning about dogs and how life can be better with knowing each other's language.

Can a Malamute or Siberian husky be trained as a service or therapy dog?
Great question Beverly. It's not unheard of to see the breed in service of therapy dog work. As with any breed, it depends on temperament and aptitude for the work we are requiring of the dog.

How much is the service dog/therapy dog training class?
Hello Tansi, There are actually three different programs of this nature in our class line up. The Service Dog Skills and Professional Therapy Dog Skills classes are $100 for four weeks of training. The therapy dog training/certification is a two day course for $50. You can find all information regarding enrollment on our website www.welltrainedfamilydog.com, click on Training Classes and scroll down to the classes that interest you. They were also supportive about helping me with my dog who jumps the fence and never attended classes with them. I have told others that the safe environment to practice is super worth it and it was a steal for what I could have had to pay for individual reactive dog work. I fully recommend it.Bluey is the black puppet. Jack Stack is brown.
Megan is great at working with all the dogs in the class and spending time with each of them.
Orientation class. Very informative
Professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. VERY nice facility in west Wichita. Well worth our drive from Newton for weekly classes. All classes have been excellent investments.
