I can’t recommend Steven and Family Dog Training Services enough. Steven has developed my German Shepherds beyond what I thought was possible and, more importantly, made me a much better handler and trainer. Brooklyn (2yrs old) was having problems with leash walking as well as aggression at times with other dogs. I had gotten as far as I could with my own training and still couldn’t overcome these difficulties. Steven was able to get Brooklyn and me through this obstacle and now Brooklyn walks perfectly on or off leash with me and is able to “leave it” when we see other dogs, squirrels or other enticements. I was so thrilled with what Steven did with Brooklyn, that I brought Brodie (7 months old) to him for training as soon as he was old enough to start working at a higher level. I was very happy with how Brodie was developing under my training and didn’t expect a major transformation like I saw with Brooklyn. I was wrong. At just 7 months, Brodie is able to consistently drop into a down position from a close distance and on the move. His stays are solid and improving. And his leash manners are fantastic. This would be incredible for a 2 year old dog. I never would have thought Brodie was capable at this early age. If you are serious about getting your dog to a high level of obedience or have found yourself stuck in your training, Steven will get you where you want to be.

I’m going to start this review with a huge THANK YOU to Steven. My husband and I have literally no words that could describe how happy and thankful we are for what Steven has done for us and Laika. Laika is a 1.5 year old Siberian Husky that was a very hard leash puller and overall hyper dog. We were never able to take him places other than friend’s house with fenced backyard due to him not responding to our commands. After working with Steven, we can take Laika anywhere without worry. He’s now a good listener, he doesn’t pull when we walk him, he has great recalls, and we are very confident letting him off leash in most places! The results are unbelievable and my Husband says “Steven is a magician”. Steven’s ability to train a dog is amazing, but he also makes sure that you as an owner are “trained” as well. After working with Steven, we know that Laika’s life with us is going to be the best it can be. We’ve had Laika home with us for about two weeks and Steven has continued to answer questions and be supportive with our long term goals. It’s easy to see that Steven wants us to succeed; he’s always in touch and giving us advice when we send him video updates. We are very thankful for Steven and all his hard work.

Having our dog trained by Steven was life changing! We have a 5 year old rescue who had some pretty bad habits. We had taken him to a few trainers before and they all told us our dog would "never" be able to do some things. Steven exceeded our expectations and we feel like we pretty much have a brand new dog, who has actually been described by strangers as "good." If we ever get another dog again, were taking him straight to Steven for some training from the start!
