I brought home a Dutch Shepherd puppy without truly understanding what owning one of these working dogs is like. I would have been way over my head if not for Fearless K9. Josh takes the time to really explain my dogs behaviors from a genetic standpoint and the training needed to shape them into an obedient and happy pet. I probably wouldn’t have been able to handle my high drive girl without Josh and our lessons every week and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

We did tons of research before deciding to get a Belgian Malinois. We also knew that we would need to partner with a good trainer. We were very lucky to find Josh and Fearless K9 (actually Gina found us at Beacon Barks!). We have been working with Josh for almost 6 years now. Pepper is trained in Advanced Obedience, Protection and some scent work. It has been an amazing journey. We started with Josh when she was a few months old, worked on obedience, building her confidence and directing her drive. Josh is patient, open to trying new things, works to understand what is driving behaviors and creates workable solutions. It’s all about creating a relationship with your dog and being fair. He takes the time to explain the concepts and answer questions. Even with a trained 6 year old we encounter new things to be worked on. Josh is always there for us. The weekly classes are so much fun! We get the opportunity to try out our skills in a safe environment with other dogs and distractions. It’s one thing to say your dog is trained and will sit/stay on command, but will they when 5 other dogs are in the room with various levels of energy? We look forward to every training session. Pepper actually knows the words “Do you want to go to bite club?” and will run to the car. She loves class. We can’t say enough about Josh and his training style. We would recommend him to anyone with any type of dog and any type of issue.

Fearless K9 was exactly what we needed and still use. Josh is incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, helpful, professional and always available if and when needed. He has helped us learn more about the breed of dog we have, how to train him and how to manage all the behaviors and situations we have found ourselves in. Fearless K-9 offers a large variety of services, on site and at your home. We have continued to advance with our training needs and Fearless K9 has a program for all of our needs. They also have custom made leashes and other training tools. As well as home made treats that are made from dried beef and chicken. Our dogs love them (as well as our kitten, who steals them from the dogs). I would recommend Fearless K9 to anyone in need of dog training. Josh helped us with our extremely stubborn great dane Blue. We had taken him to group classes and private lessons at petco without any change in behavior. Once josh started helping us Blue started listening right away and showed us how to keep him under control and respect both of us. He used to be completely out of control but now we can take him off leash with no issues. Josh will set up a plan tailored to your dog with immediate results.

I got nova from someone on Facebook at 6 months old. I was under the impression that she had at least basic training. Although I was falling in love with this sweet girl, she was horribly untrained. She couldn’t even sit, and wasn’t potty trained at all. My sister and I tried to train her but she would aggressively bark at us, jump, and bite us and other people. As months went by and little to no success, I contemplated giving her away but I chose to go to a professional trainer instead. From day one Josh was extremely informative, and my sister and I could tell he knew exactly what to do to help us. After only two or three training sessions, nova was a completely changed dog! As Josh helped us train her, she became more confident with what our expectations were, which made her overall a more confident dog. She learned a ton of commands as in: sit, down, climb, free, off, out, okay, heal, come, and how to walk on and off leash. I think the best part about how Josh trains is that it’s completely tailored to you and your dogs needs. He always asked us what we wanted to fix and never pushed us to train her on things that weren’t issues for us specifically. Another thing that we loved was how Josh broke everything down and helped us understand the pit bull breeds and how they have to be trained differently than other dogs based on their genetics. He even informed us on supplements and choosing the right kind of dog food, which were things that never even crossed our minds. Lastly, Josh definitely does an amazing job training dogs, but he does an even better job training us. Most of the commands success was based entirely on our handling. He taught us how to be consistent, and efficient in order to progress faster with Nova. We are so great full for Josh because after only 8 lessons Nova went from 0 training, to a confident off leash dog. Josh helped us create a “team” relationship with her, and our bond has never been stronger. The knowledge we learned training with him we will have for a lifetime!
