FetchMasters, LLC

I started working with Fetchmasters in December of 2020 with my two rescue Dobies. Both adult dogs came with little more than name recognition and an inconsistent (at best) sit PLUS some leash aggression behavior with the female. After SPOT ON evaluations of both dogs, Tom and Linda recommended a specific training path for each dog and after only a few months, I have two wonderful dogs that behave on walks, in the store, at home, etc. I was drawn to the positive Fetchmasters approach but what has made me a fan for life is how they share their knowledge and insight to dog behavior and communication that you only get from years of experience. I look forward to reaching new goals with both dogs that weren't even a part of the conversation in the beginning as well as getting to share everything CO has to offer with my dogs.

I stumbled upon FetchMasters online last June, and the online distance coaching we did with Linda was brilliant. We had bought our Cockerpoo just before lockdown, and were having real trouble with her. Despite our best efforts, she was destructive, disobedient, and couldn't be crated/left alone for a moment. We had a dog that was really pushing us to our limits and wandering if we had made the wrong decision in getting a dog. From the first call, it was really clear that Linda really knew what she was doing, and could help us. She started off explaining a lot of the theory behind dog behaviour and how it related to what we were experiencing. From there, we started off with a couple of techniques to immediately assert some control over our dog's behaviour and set some clear boundaries for acceptable behaviour. We could let her know with 'time out' when she had done something wrong, and the best thing was it wasn't mean or rough or anything like that, just a clear sign to our dog what she was doing wasn't allowed. It only took a day or so before there was a significant change in our dog; she was biting us less, and when she did, we could quickly and firmly make it clear it wasn't on. As well as the immediate techniques to help, Linda also did a brilliant job of coaching us through the basic obedience commands for our dog (sit, down, heel, etc), and made really quick progress, which was fun for both us and our dog. The other benefits of this, was (as Linda predicted), that this improved our dogs demeanour and behaviour over all. The regular obedience training gave our dog the mental and physical stimulation she needed to help her calm down generally, as well as getting her more used to a) following commands happily and b) being more relaxed and not the centre of attention. Overall, Linda helped us train our dog to be the dog we always wanted. She is calm and friendly, and a source of joy and happiness in our life; I cannot recommend FetchMasters training enough!

My husband and I started training our new puppy, Chester, through Fetchmasters shortly after adopting him last fall. Because Chester is half German Shorthaired Pointer and half Doberman, he has tons of energy and high prey drive. Our vet recently referred to him as "a little lightening bolt" if that gives you an idea of what we are dealing with. Even as a small puppy, dog treats were useless to get his attention when there were interesting smells, squirrels, or birds nearby. We knew we made the right decision in selecting Fetchmasters after our first few intro sessions with senior trainer, Jessie. Jessie is not only skilled in training dogs, but she also genuinely cares about helping each person work through the challenges they encounter with their pups. It was amazing to see the difference in Chester's behavior and confidence after working through the puppy classes with Jessie. The skills and management tools we learned set a great foundation and allowed Chester to receive proper socialization during his early puppyhood. Since aging out of the puppy classes, we have worked with both Jessie and Linda in Fetchmasters' other class offerings: Mastering Manners, Strong Foundations, Mastering Distractions, and Tricks. After spending the winter season training, Chester now keeps all four feet on the ground when greeted by people (he was a jumper), respectably heels on leash (he was an intense puller), reliably comes when called (he would ignore us when distracted), and holds a down stay for 5+ minutes (he would run after anything blowing in the wind). We've discovered there are ways to reward Chester that are higher value to him than dog treats. As a result, he is becoming more and more responsive to commands with birds/rabbits/chickens just feet away. Chester even has an arsenal of tricks! Fetchmasters is simply unparalleled. We are so pleased with Chester's behavior/obedience at just 8 months old.

My husband and I are so grateful to the trainers at Fetchmasters for helping us with our German Shepherd, Zoya. We took Zoya through their initial distance learning obedience class when she was a little pup. Then, when she began developing some issues with leash walking and reactivity, it was so nice to be able to reach out to Fetchmasters and know that they could help us handle this new problem. We had to discontinue going to group classes because of some personal circumstances, but we can't say enough nice things about Linda at Fetchmasters and her accessibility/dedication to her clients. We will definitely continue to use the skills we learned and are thankful for all the obedience training every day! We have a happy, healthy, obedient dog and the knowledge we need to continue making sure she is a productive member of dog and human society. Thank you, Fetchmasters!

We welcomed Scout, our first Wirehaired Pointing Griffon to our family in March 2020. I was referred to FetchMasters through another Griffon owner, and I began working with Tom & Linda in June. I've found that they provide a great obedience foundation and top notch gun dog training. Tom & Linda are very patient and kind. They offer a wealth of knowledge and experience, which they make accessible to you through their website, text, phone, video calls, and in-person training. Scout recently completed his Level I training, and we are moving on to Level II shortly. I look forward to continuing to work with Tom & Linda in the future.
