Five Lakes Dog Training

We unfortunately had Sami to our home to help us with some aggression between our two dogs and it was honestly one of our biggest regrets. I’m not sure how we had such an awful experience when I see so many 5 star reviews here, but this is what happened: We had Sami over to work with our dogs for an in home consultation. We mentioned that our dog had some major sensitivities to loud noises such as the blender and vacuum and that he actually attacks these items if he is in the home when we are using these. She proceeded to put a prong collar on our dog and have us use the blender. Every time he would move toward the blender when it was on she would violently yank on the prong collar. He was terrified and the more she yanked the more he started to show signs that he felt unsafe and afraid. I regret everyday that I didn’t stop her and ask her to leave our house. I just thought she knew what she was doing so I bit my tongue. Now, our dog was being aggressive towards our other dog but had never been aggressive towards us or any other human. After an excessive amount of yanking on the prong collar he actually nipped at Sami. She then looked at us and said, look your dog is very aggressive and the best option would probably be to have him put down. We were dumbfounded and after she left we called our vet who had known our dog since we got him as a puppy and told her what happened and what Sami recommended. Our vet was also dumbfounded and said she’d never not once experienced even an ounce of aggression from our dog during nail trimmings, shots, examinations etc. Our dog has recently started showing aggression towards us and I believe having Sami come to our home and letting her do what she did to our dog in front of us, in the safety of our own home, really broke the trust we had built between us and our dog. I wholly regret having Sami to our home and wish I could go back in time and undo the damage that was done. We are now working with a behavioral veterinarian to try to help us repair the damages done.

I think Sami might actually be a miracle worker! She has spent the last few weeks with my 1 year old pup, Hazel, and Sami has been able to transform her from an impulse driven, “my way or the highway” doggo into a well behaved girl. In fact, today she maintained her “place” even while I received my Uber eats dinner. I could not believe it! Just a month ago, I could not have imagined her resisting the urge to greet a stranger at the door. We’ve gone through other training programs, and although they were helpful, nothing can compare to the leaps and bounds I’ve seen Hazel make while working with Sami.

We adopted "Blue, " a 3 yr old Habaneze male about 6 months ago. He was a breeder dog. When we got him, he didn't exhibit many of the traits of a "normal" i.e., friskiness, affectionate, playful, etc. He was very docile, withdrawn, and non responsive to our many cues. He refused to walk into the house(we had to pick him up) each time he had a walk. Upon a recommendation from some of our friends, we took Blue to Sami, who kept our dog at her home for almost 5 weeks. Upon reuniting with our dog, what a CHANGE. He was much more responsive, friendlier, took our many cues , and appeared to be a much more relaxed anda and happier dog. He's better around our friends and grand children and more playful around other dogs..In our opinion Sami is the consummate trainer, soft spoken, and seems to have an interesting ability to bond with animals....especially dogs. I highly recommend her!!!

Sami worked absolute wonders with my Loki pup! For perspective he is a 9 month old Rottweiler! He has made such amazing improvements! He went from being terrified of stairs to running up and down for fun with no hesitation! I have never even attempted taking him off a leash outside before and now I feel 100% comfortable taking him to a park, beach or even outside my house without a leash. Absolutely amazing! Sami had been nothing but kind and amazing with my pupper! She made me feel so comfortable in this process of sending my pup with her. She also is super knowledgeable and so understanding of your pups needs as well as doing an amazing job at giving you her knowledge to correct and prevent any behaviors that are unwanted! This girl knows her stuff! I would absolutely 1000% recommend training your Pupper with Sami⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sami was recommended by a person that worked at the veterinary office. She said “Sami is the best if you ever need a trainer.” Fast forward 4 months later and we needed help training our 1 year old mini golden doodle. He had submissive peeing issues and started growling and barking at people. We called Sami and explained our situation and she was extremely knowledgeable with what was happening. Sami worked with our dog until she was happy with his results. She was able to correct his submissive peeing and we were shocked at how he now will “place” (stay) in his bed and not move until will allow him to move. Sami not only teaches the dog but the family as well because the following thru is just as important. Hiring a trainer is worth the money because it’s an investment in yours and your dog’s life for many years to come! Highly recommended Sami!
