We got a puppy in July from the back of a wagon at a farmers market:) Needless to say, he was sort of unplanned! We fell in love with him immediately but realized that the puppy training we were doing from the book I bought was ok but not enough to address the havoc that a sweet, adorable little dog can unleash on a home! After two weeks of training at Flash, our house was a much calmer, happier place. Our little guy learned how to stay in his special place, not bothering the other dogs, how to walk on a leash without pulling, how to come, sit, and wait. He was already on the path to being housebroken when he left for training, but when he came back he was fully potty trained! The best part is how simple our roles were in transitioning him from training back into our lives. Yes, he is still a puppy with lots of energy and sometimes needs to be reminded of what he knows he can do, but the difference was truly night and day before and after this program. The staff is so friendly and professional and we felt very safe trusting them with the newest, littlest member of our family. We still find treats in all the pockets of our clothes, but it makes me smile because I realize what a good decision the training was!

Worth it! We opted for the 3 week board and train after significant research and consideration - the cost is not small, but the value was huge. Our 2 1/2 yr old mixed breed (Shephard, huskey, border collie) was becoming increasingly reactive to other dogs both on & off leash, and aggression around food and people approaching the house. We live an active lifestyle and I love to take him off leash daily when I bike, so we opted for the e-collar training and have been really pleased with the behavioral improvements in our dog. Our family's relationship with our pup has improved as well as we gained confidence in our ability to manage him and reduce the possibility of conflicts. Our trainer, Jess, is incredibly perceptive, kind, and effective. She's reached out after our board to set follow up 1-on-1 training sessions, which have been valuable. Flash also offers boarding services for when we travel out of town, so we haven't had to worry about losing any ground in the months immediately following his training.

When I say that Flash Dog Training changed our lives, I am NOT exaggerating. I first found Kerry over 4 years ago, looking for someone to help me with my sweet, but complicated and difficult rescue after other trainers and programs had failed him time and time again. Not only does she take a compassionate, dog-focused approach, but she is incredibly intelligent, straight-forward, and compassionate with your family and your dog. She only works with and hires the most outstanding people who do absolutely LIFE CHANGING work with dogs. Not only did she resolve several of Oso's reactive leash issues, anxiety, and recall, she truly gave us another life with him. The freedom to be able to take him anywhere without fear, and let him truly ENJOY his best life in the outdoors on an e-collar is the greatest gift I have ever given our family and the most amazing thing I have been able to give a rescue dog. Oso went from literally dragging me down a sidewalk and lunging at everything to being able to walk with one finger on a leash, so calm, happy and relaxed. This especially paid off later on in life when we added a stroller to our walks with the birth of our daughter. He had no issues keeping my pace, respecting my commands, and always walking incredibly gently next to our baby, even years after his training at FDT. After this amazing experience, we always knew that we would immediately budget the cost of a puppy imprinting camp with any purchase or adoption of future dogs. That day came this summer, after our sweet Oso bear passed over the rainbow bridge, we decided to add a puppy to the family. Years later with a new facility, new staff, and a lot more clients, I was still shown the same attentiveness, passion, and dedication as we were the first time years ago. I don't live in Bend anymore, but the travel from Utah was 100% worth it to me, so we found a way to get her up to Oregon and back. Our puppy came back to us in excellent shape, happy as ever, and capable of WAY more commands and self control than I ever thought was possible in a 12 week old dog. I know for a fact that her life will be better because of the amazing start we were able to give her with FDT in the puppy imprinting program. We are already so excited to get her back for her e-collar big-girl training! No matter how far we have to travel, I will never bring any of my dogs anywhere but FDT for training or puppy imprinting. Not that there aren't other trainers with excellent experience and results out there, I just can't imagine bringing a dog anywhere else because of the immense trust and love I have for Kerry and her staff. Flash Dog Training changed my and my dog’s lives. I have a pit mix that lives with a lot of fear on a daily basis which was leading to reactivity and aggression.
