Freedom Paws Service Dogs Foundation

My personal experience with this service was very poor. A little background on me I’m a veteran and a first responder with PTSD and TBI. I reached out to freedom paws during a time when I needed help. It seemed to go smoothly at the start. Their process was easy to follow and I was hopeful. I ended up needing to go inpatient due to mental health symptoms. I informed them of my setback to maintain transparency. They reached out to me denying my application due to being unstable and requiring too much hospitalizations. They claimed this is for the dogs safety. They stated I could try again after I demonstrate stability (no clue what that even means). I did an intensive 50 day treatment and reached out several times and haven’t heard from them since. Personally I think there was another reason for the denied application that they didn’t want to tell me. Why would I be punished for keeping myself safe during a time of crisis? This was a very discouraging and stressful setback.
