How much work do I have to do?

That depends on you and your dog. However, most owners find that if they work with their dog for at least 20 minutes, 2 times a day, they will see remarkable results.

What training methods & equipment do you use?

We use a 'motivational' dog training approach. This method uses a combination of Traditional training and Positive Reinforcement training - tailoring programs to fit each individual dogs' temperament and needs. We use a variety of training equipment - depending on what will work best for each dog and owner team. Motivational Trainers reward through praise, treats, toys - whatever works for the owner and dog. They also give leash guidance to the dog and owner to stop or control problem behaviors that are destructive, annoying, or dangerous.

How often do we come to training classes?

Weekly or every-other-week training sessions generally work best, but we know sometimes life gets hectic. So, we try to be as flexible as possible with meeting your scheduling needs.

How much does dog training cost?

While it's impossible to estimate cost until we meet your dog, we have programs from around $900 to $1800 - completely depending on what we're working on with your dog. Our goal is to find the service that works for you and your individual needs. We also offer financing through PayPal Credit. Ask yourself this: How much does a waste of time & money cost? Amateur dog trainers usually charge around $400 to $600 per 6 week course. They do NOT offer specialized behavior modification methods. Imagine paying good money and then your dog is more aggressive, destructive, obnoxious, and disobedient than before. Over 50% of the dogs we see each year have already been to large group training classes with an amateur dog trainer. Another 30% of the dogs we see each year have been to other private trainers or board and train programs, and in some cases have spent thousands of dollars on methods that just don't work. Training without a good foundation doesn't give reliable, predictable results.

Both trainers were not only highly attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable. Jordan and Meg went above and beyond to address any questions or concerns we had throughout our training programs. They made sure we felt comfortable throughout the sessions and provided invaluable insights to improve our relationship with our puppy. Their dedication and expertise gave us, and Winnie, the confidence to better navigate the world alongside our furry friend. Meg was awesome to work with on Core Obedience with our 1 year old Great Dane, Violet. Our main concern was Violet’s leash reactivity with other rowdy dogs, and we wanted to polish up on some obedience training. Meg was very thorough on explaining on what we needed to do in order to set Violet up for success. The emails she sent after each training session reviewing what we went over in class and what our homework was were very helpful. I highly recommend bringing your dog to Front Range K9 Academy.

If you're thinking about bringing your dog to Front Range K9 Academy, I highly recommend it! When we started training our dog, he couldn't be around other dogs without reacting badly, and he had issues with joggers, scooters, and cats. His obedience was lacking. However, since joining K9 Academy, he now walks nicely, can be around other dogs without issues, and has learned valuable skills. We started with 1:1 classes with Meg, who was amazing and patient. Now, we're in group classes with Jordan, who's also great. Whether your dog has severe issues like ours or you just want to improve basic skills, Front Range K9 Academy is a fantastic choice for dog training.
