Full Spectrum Dog Training

Jason was the best trainer I found in the GR area after going through 3 other places that did very little. He uses an e-collar and works with you and your dog until you are completely comfortable and satisfied with it. My dog went from being almost unwalkable to being a dog I can trust not to go ballistic when we walk by other dogs. She LOVED Jason as well which made me feel very confident with what he was doing.

Before we worked with Jason, I couldn't take my dog out on walks or really enjoy life with her outside our home. She was very reactive to bikes, skateboards, scooters. Anything on wheels and we'd tried everything we could think of. Jason was able to turn that around in only a few short months and was so dedicated to helping our dog and us as dog parents. He really went above and beyond, taking the time to help us gain confidence in training her as well. We now are able to take her out daily to parks, on drives, and even off leash. I was skeptical at first but Jason really knocked it out of the park. I can guarantee you won't find a better trainer in GR.

Jason is the man! Comet was an overly energetic jumper with a poor recall and bad leash walking habits. With the help of Jason and his expertise in e-collar training we quickly learned how to correct negative behaviors and got Comet to the point where he no longer jumps, channels his high energy into a toy or stick instead of jumping, recalls with a simple “beep” from the e-collar and walks on leash like a certified good boy. We no longer use any of our tie up ropes in our yard and Comet now roams free at just over 1 year old!

I highly recommend Jason for any dog consulting, especially for e-collar training. My dogs, Jerome and Gibson, along with my partner Will and I, moved from Montana (a free dog country) to downtown Grand Rapids in January, and the transition was extremely challenging for them. Their reactivity increased, and they became uncontrollable on a leash. I had to start walking them separately because they were reacting off each other and barking at everyone who walked by our house. I felt unsure about what to do. I even considered medication for Gibson and began to question my decision to get a second dog, Jerome. It felt unmanageable. I researched and reached out to many trainers, but the process felt overwhelming and out of my budget. That’s when I contacted Jason, who was incredibly patient with me. He didn’t try to sell me anything before meeting both me and my dogs. I shared a list of goals I wanted to achieve, and he worked with me on the financial aspect, allowing me to pay in installments. He was very flexible with my schedule and truly accommodating. He assured me that we would work together until I was satisfied. I appreciated the variety of his training styles, and my dogs are significantly better and less anxious now. Most importantly, I feel more confident as a dog owner. I’ve accepted that my dogs will never be perfect, but with time and consistency, they have really improved, and I have Jason to thank for that. The e-collar has been extremely helpful. I trust that my dogs won’t chase after animals, which allows them to enjoy more freedom while still being safe and manageable. Everything else has just fallen into place with the use of the e-collar.
