Full Spectrum Dog Training

Jason has brought so much hope! He understands dogs in a way most of us just don’t. I was referred to a pleasant dog by our vet. We rescued a dog who was extremely fearful of everything. A pleasant dog viewed this as aggressive behavior and explained that he wouldn’t be able to ever be around people and would need to be muzzled most of the time, that he wouldn’t be able to be around other dogs, and especially men. They explained their process of the “yes” Command while throwing treats around and while it broke his attention it only reinforced the negative behavior we were seeing causing him to become even more reactive. I later had one of their trainers come to my home to follow up and she again suggested the muzzle and explained that we wouldn’t be able to have guests in our home because of shadows “aggression”, when she left, she said she would be in contact in two weeks to go over the muzzle training and in the meantime order a certain brand. She never called back, it’s been 5 months. I then was referred to Jason by a family member and he has been working with shadow ever since. We have seen incredible results. He comes to our home and works with shadow in his environment, Shadow is able to walk in our neighborhood and not go after other dogs or people, he just walks by calmly. Jason has worked hard showing shadow he doesn’t need to be afraid of all the things in his environment like fire hydrants and other dogs. Shadow has become much calmer, much more confident and even more responsive to commands, and we have never needed to muzzle Shadow. I would highly recommend full spectrum dog training if you want actual common sense results with your dogs. Jason not only trains the dog, but more more importantly, helps us owners understand how to communicate with our dogs. Thank you for your dedication to harder cases!

I started my journey with Jason from Full Spectrum Dog Training back around November. Coming into this, Brody (dog) was defiant in many ways. He jumped on visitors, had zero recall abilities, was horrible on walks and had terrible resource guarding. Within the last few months, Jason has helped Brody and myself form a relationship in which I’m the boss and he looks to me for commands. Before, Brody ruled the roost and had zero boundaries and follow through (and he knew it for sure). Jason worked with my dog and I and got us to a point where he comes when called (most times), is amazing on walks and left me with techniques for his resource guarding. I highly recommend Jason and his training abilities. Not only is he great and easy to work with and learn from, but he’s very flexible and always met me where I needed time/availability wise. He’s a happier, more structured pup after all of his training. I will continue my work with Brody and keep up with all of the training and techniques that I have been given. We are so glad we found Jason to help us with our two dogs. We left another training place confused and not sure how to apply what we’d learned in our day to day lives. Jason came to our home, assessed our situation and developed a plan to help our dogs build confidence and structure while ensuring we as pet owners had the right tools to support the needs of our pets. Jason is a gem. I hired him to help me with e collar training because I failed doing it myself. My dog was chasing deer, blowing through his e collar, and I was resigned to thinking he’d have to be on a leash for the rest of his life. This was pretty depressing considering we have 2 miles of trails right behind our house that we like to walk 2 or 3 times a day. In just a few short weeks, Kyle is very close to being able to lose that leash! The BIG BONUS that came along with Jason and this training is that we are learning how to be LEADERS to our dog and all future dogs. It’s not for lack of trying to train our dogs. I’ve been to all sorts of obedience classes, spent hundred of dollars, but came out the other end none the better. My dog had no idea what I wanted from him, and I had no idea how to teach him. To be honest, just plain old being a leader is tremendously easier than continually tossing treats and expecting him to just ‘get it’. Our lives have all changed and I truly believe my 2 year old Kyle is actually a happier dog now!!
